You are allowed your opinion but these are far from "truths" and lack any credibility. #1 is just plain laughable, #2 well with the high cost of higher education I'm fine with not having the highest paid coaches on the block - high pay does not equate to high results, #3 "many of our fans and stakeholders" - nope not the real fans and stakeholders, #4 is just a perpetual argument that never ends and #5 .... well I wouldn't lose any sleep over it because "May have to" is a long way from happening.

Would the NCAA also sanction a rival school that cheered "Sioux Suck" or similar? 2. How could the NCAA prove it was UND fans doing the cheering? And saying they were wearing Sioux gear proves nothing see #1. 3. What school is going to take the time to do that and create hard feelings with another school over off-ice cheers? 4. Does it have to be a school or could anyone file a complaint - that opens a can of worms for verification? 5. What is the reality of the NCAA punishing a school for a person exercising their rights of free speech? I'm guessing the next Herald story will talk about how rumors are flying that members of the Big Sky are starting to share their concerns, and how UND could get kicked out of Big Sky.

Expect this as a response "This survey is not an accurate representation of how the student body thinks. It is not random and those who prefer the name "North Dakota" would be more inclined to vote." The old sage says when you don't like the results of a survey question the methodology. Actually you could probably make the case that more than 70% of students don't care so why wouldn't you listen to the percentage that do.

Yup we've had ours but it's always fun to poke the bison.

Getting your day in court only applies to SU starters. But UND special teams now have a new strategy - the "New Orleans Saints Rush" - first SU punt that guy gets crushed and we take the 15 yards (yah I know there is a chance they won't be punting much.).

If no one complains you can bet the NCAA simply picks up the phone and asks someone to complain - the same way that once it appeared UND might keep Fighting Sioux and take the NCAA punishments of not hosting etc. they simply sent out some letters to schools advising them not to schedule UND and the schools quickly fell in line.

There is a waiting list for UND hockey tickets too but you can still get into most home games for a reasonable price.

A Montana State Groupie picking Montana State to win the conference title and a guy that probably can't name one player on UND's team picking us for 8th - not surprised. I do wonder if UND is going to face "West Coast Bias" it's entire time in the Big Sky - and yes I know winning will help but we had a pretty good defense last year and got no recognition for it - we deserved a little but again it's tough to get if they can't see past the Montana state line.

So when the day comes that Fighting Sioux shirts are not allowed on campus or at UND events would you be stopped at the door if you were wearing this shirt? is there an assumption that if someone wears a Sioux shirt that they are unwilling to "move on"? Just gotta comment on Standing Rock - a majority of the tribal members live in South Dakota and have never been anywhere close to Grand Forks. They have no interest in UND or the logo and thus no interest in having a vote on a name they know nothing about - just another example of how the NCAA screwed UND (Yes our Attorney General agreed to the terms at the time but no other University has had to get approval from two tribes and especially one that is about 500 miles from their campus.) But I agree that's history and time to move on - the "Protectors of other people's feelings" won.

Not to mention the letter writing campaign that pretty much put UND on a black list for scheduling, the certainty that UND won't be chosen if they have a team that is ever on the bubble for at large play-offs and of course there's that hosting thing - hey one benefit is that UND could actually get Fargo blackballed.

I'm okay with just North Dakota and I am fine with moving on from Fighting Sioux - the lefties won. BUT the reality is the NCAA says "Vi Have Vays to make your life difficult". They may not be able to do anything about it but as we have experienced they can be clandestine in punishing a school that crosses them.
