Can you imagine if we had a decent O-line and D-line last year what we could have done to teams with passing...just crazy to think what could have been...

We all know the classy organization in MSP would never sink to that level of chicanery...said no one.

First, whoever keeps feeling the need to blame Sioux Hockey for Sioux Football's ride to oblivion needs to get their head examined. If we didn't have the hockey program we have, then we would still be in DII football. Period. Take it to the bank - the financial reporting backs this up. So, instead of trying to blame poor personnel decisions by the AD on the hockey program, why not celebrate the fact that we have a championship caliper sports program like Hockey on campus and look for ways for Football to exploit this advantage. Second, per IRAMURPHY, we need to model our football approach off of the marketing and program experiences of the Hockey program and our sister college to the South. Granted, it may feel like eating crow, but the humbling experience is a character builder not unlike what Bubba is preaching now about our need to re-establish a blue-collar, lunch pail attitude in our football program and quit making excuses for poor outcomes and take responsibility and move it forward.

If we can't get Schmidt, then whose up next for Bubba to chose from?

Maybe that's why a majority of oil transported on land is via Pipeline...It would be nice to think once that people would use common sense instead of political wrangling to do what is right for Americans and ND in particular.

I'm totally bewildered by some people's ability to look at this hiring process as a well managed and timely approach to securing high-end coaching talent...I guess I left my Sioux glasses at the lake this summer...Sorry, my UND glasses at the lake...

Let's not jump to some conclusion that the people who are ripping on departing players are the fans who refuse to go to the games and contribute financially...You don't have the data to state that in confidence, so don't go there. Also, you don't think it was an honest criticism of the UND football team last year that they didn't have a viable product on the field? So, 2000 more people show up and that would have made the difference at the 40 pt. losses...don't think so. Remember, these kids are getting something for their play time, its called a scholarship and an education, and we have every right to expect something as fans and alumni of the school as well. If the kids want to leave, then more power to them...its a two way street called opportunity.

Again, my thoughts are this... - Faison's supposed replacement list was small in both quantity and quality - Had NDSU not retained an Assistant Coach for their opening, they would never have put up with this crap for a hiring process - Everyone knew by the fifth loss that we were in trouble and it was going to be someone's job, hence no excuse for this type of outcome - Huge tactical error by the AD not assigning someone to communicate with the football team and ensure their questions and concerns were being answered...end result is we have a mass exodus of players of quality and eligibility - Still trying to understand why we were regional when we said we were going national; communication error or planned from the get go?

I wish Caruso would have gotten into the mix...

I don't think it is...I didn't see anything about televising the game in the paper...

I think it tells you a lot about the position of Brian Faison...To have to ask an OC from a MSVC team to apply on the last day doesn't connote great respect and pull in the football world in my honest opinion...If he had a real list to begin with, then I don't see how we are asking Mr. DeBoer to apply at the end of the process.

I personally am disappointed with the outcome because of the sales pitch by the AD this was going to be a "Nation-wide Search" and we end up with two guys that everyone on this board with a minimal amount of coaching/football/recruiting experience have already chosen. Add to this the drawn out process supposedly created to ensure no mishaps or mis-hires for this position as well as losing key talent from last year because of the lack of speed in the process. If we are going to be champions, then we need to act like champions...did this whole process leave anyone feeling like we are thinking like champions? Again, given this outcome I hope the Hockey program keeps their coach for the next 10-15 years...

I agree with your comment, but shouldn't we expect his short list would contain people that were attainable? For instance, I could say I have a short list of FB coaches for UND that include Saban, Belichek, and Cowher...Means I can identify winners, but doesn't mean I can secure them for the role...I am surprised that it seems Faison's list didn't contain names better than what we have seen and some were pie in the sky...troubling to me if we ever had to replace Hakstol.

Just purchased 6 tickets to Friday's game between the US Women and Canadian Women at the Ralph...I never got to see the twins play for UND and it will be the last time to see them at the Ralph! Also, it would be nice to see a US win at our Rink!
