  1. I think it's also a more legitimate issue when the tourney is across the pond. The time change and jet lag are real factors to overcome. The tourney this year was in North America, and with a 5th place finish meaning one fewer game, there should have been sufficient recovery time.
  2. Eidsness should have been out at 1:37
  3. Gimme a break. In the finals the Canadians gooned Ovechkin and took him out of the game. I lived in DC, saw him a lot with the Caps and have met him in person a couple of times. The NHL wishes it had more Alex Ovechkins. He plays hard at both ends of the ice and isn't afraid to hit people. So he was a little cocky against the US. That's certainly not something limited to the Russian athletes. I suppose he could be a class act like that fine Canadian Sean Avery.
  4. Yeah, the NHL would be much better without guys like Ovechkin and Malkin ruining it.
  5. What, no one asked about Cornell's most famous alum, Andy from the Office. Seriously, I'm looking forward to hitting Lynah next year. I've heard a great deal of its legendary status and I'm intererested in how the atmosphere compares to the old Engelstad.
  6. Nice win for the Sioux. 61-56. Unbeaten in Division I.
  7. Tried that after seeing your note and still nothing. Even gave up on Firefox and tried IE and still nothing. I can play the radio feed and even pull up on demand content just can't get the video. Really sucks. Now mysterious it let's me in. Missed the first 10 minutes.
  8. still can't get the webcast. Guess it's payback since I almost never had problems with dataflix.
  9. That paratrooper drop was pretty sweet!
  10. Obviously, this is what I am hoping.
  11. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/colle...0,7056312.story An interesting quote "Joining the Great West won't change that immediately because the league is ineligible for an automatic bid until 2015, Commissioner Ed Grom said." 2015 is much earlier than I thought the new league could get a bid. That would only be a couple of extra years beyond the transition that UND would have to wait for a bid if they can't get into another conference.

    WWU vs UND

WWU FG makes is 35-24. They then kick short to avoid Bamba and the Sioux will start at their own 42.

    WWU vs UND

Trenbreath 2-yd TD catch 35-21 Sioux

    WWU vs UND

Huge 75 yard return from Bamba. Although he had a fumble he has looked very good on his other returns. Definitely a bright future.

    WWU vs UND

Alex Nicholas 2nd TD 28-14 Sioux

    WWU vs UND

14-7 WWU late in the 1st. UND led 7-0, but then WWU drove for a score, the Sioux fumbled the ensuing kickoff and WWU hit a bomb on the next play. 2 TDs in 17 sec.

    Jeff Dubay

For what it's worth, his wikipedia entry mentions the arrest.
  18. Hawaii is a brilliant scheduling decision for recruiting purposes, and it also allows you to schedule an extra game, so there is an extra monetary benefit. I was really hoping we could find a way to schedule them. I will definitely be at Aloha Stadium. What a great road trip!
  19. http://www.grandforksherald.com/articles/i...ection=homepage Maybe stuff like this.
  20. tough loss for the Sioux, but I can't remember them ever outshooting an opponent 48-18. hope things are on the upswing.
  21. Colgate's game this weekend versus Georgetown has been cancelled due to a norovirus outbreak on the Georgetown campus. Makeup is unlikely due to the open weeks not matching up. But Colgate's open week does match up with ours on Nov. 15. This would be an intriguing matchup with a school that is somewhat well known. They also happen to play hockey, so perhaps a weekend could be set up down the line with a football-hockey combo.
  22. I'd like to see the schools schedule a tentative game for December if Cal Poly doesn't make the playoffs, especially if both teams were 3-0 in the conference. Call it the conference title game. Poly could host it, so it would be a nice getaway for North Dakota fans just before the holidays. Such a game would be nice as it would determine an outright champion (again provided that both teams were 3-0 going in), but it would also allow both teams to continue practicing, much like bowl games do at the FBS level. That would be huge, especially for UND. I believe UC-Davis and San Diego had such a tentative game scheduled a year or two ago, and it came to pass when an undefeated San Diego was not selected for the playoffs. Just a little out-of-the-box thinking.
  23. As an SCOMM grad and the son and brother of two others this makes me sick. The University leadership has allowed one of the strongest programs at the University totally wither on the vine. There was a time when UND Journalism was among the finest in the nation, right there with the likes of Kansas and Northwestern. Since the 80s it's been on a sad, steady decline resulting first in losing accreditation and now apparently this dissolution. What an absolute waste. I'm looking forward to hear the specifics of this realignment, but I have difficulty believing there will be no losses. The saddest thing is that the school has still been putting out a lot of really outstanding successful students who are making a mark nationwide. Really a sad day for the U.
  24. Murray, Murray and more Murray. That's what should happen.
