    SDSU @ UND

New OC doesn’t need them here either with possibly less talent than Danny had here, for sure less experience.
  2. Just got back from overseas work trip. Didn’t watch the game but also didn’t want to ignore your message. I’ll watch it at some point this week. No excuses from me I guess. Not sure why I need one as I wasn’t playing. I’ll continue to stand up for the current players. I do think the accountability goes all the way around to coaches and players. I don’t think plays are called differently on the road (execution) but one can’t ignore the one constant. Last two weeks have been really frustrating.
  3. Those other schools sitting back and allowing NDSU have their cake and eat it to by earning more money in the MWC while getting the benefit of the Summit footprint would hurt everyone of their athletic depts. If anything has become apparent in the recent college athletics landscape is you look out for yourself first. If NDSU wants to go, that is great they have certainly earned the opportunity. As a regional competitor to them I certainly wouldn’t make it easy as any success impacts the entire campus.
  4. And to remain competitive for money to support those other sports, the Dakota schools should make sure anyone one of them wanting to do it on their own is truly on their own. There is additional money to be had in the MWC and having to play outside of the Summit would mean NDSU has to spend it on sports other than football.
  5. If the other Dakota schools allow them to move up for football only and still get the benefit of a fairly tight footprint Summit league for all other sports than those schools get what they deserve. Why make it easy for them when it’s known they have budget issues that aren’t going away.
  6. The MVFC/Summit schools should be pushing this.
  7. Likely no. Need to go 3-1 down the stretch.
  8. I was wrong. Looked run all the way with the OL release. That and the 3rd and 2 would have been nice to execute.
  9. He looked left and saw an unblocked LB and has no where to run. It’s a designed run left with the left tackle running by the LB and the right FB and right guard blocking the same player and leaving the LB untouched in the backfield. You can see where it is supposed to hit and where it would have been if anyone gets a piece of the Youngstown LB.
  10. It’s a designed run and if 51 blocks the LB scraping Q walks in. His throw was him panicking and trying to make something out of nothing.
  11. Except it didn’t work on a 3rd and 2 that would have nearly iced the game earlier.
  12. Would have rather seen a play like this on the 3rd and 2. Frustrating to rewatch. Never really had a chance.
  13. Will be interesting to follow as the only group who will be able to reign this back in will be legislation.
  14. QB looked impressive vs USD and like one that has historically given our defense problems.
  15. I liked the youth at WR yesterday. I liked 98 getting reps at DE yesterday. Has a good motor and made some nice plays in the backfield and retracing on screens. Great job by the team and coaches to get out and win a game the way they should. Need to find a way to get these next two on the road.
  16. Agreed. Plenty of teams being successful with two QBs.
  17. QB has regressed a bit this year
  18. Likely down one defensive starter for some time maybe season
  19. Will the defense that has played the 2nd half of about every game show up at the start of this one?? Key game for the season and I’m not overly sure what to make of it.
  20. There were plenty of missed opportunities.
  21. Likely more so that the QB has shown struggles finding and completing passes. Guys were open.
  22. They didn’t stack the box but their secondary didn’t respect the pass game either. They saw a hole open up and they were firing right away with zero disregard for getting beat. It was very apparent at the dome. They may as well have walked everyone down
  23. Opening kickoff. Generally a botched return leads to a tackle inside the 20. We allowed them to return it to the 50, they blew up guys on our coverage team, and set the tone for the day.
  24. I thought it was fine. NDSU came in with a chip on their shoulder and was going to play physical. They were going to push the envelope that day and I wish we would have matched that. It was a difference in the game.
  25. First kickoff was terrible. Generally on a play like that the returning team is inside the 20. Instead we have terrible coverage getting blown up everywhere and they are near mid field and they have set the tone for the game.
