About half the team this year will be Hutter recruits.  Will the 8 person rotation feature mostly Hutter recruits?

For those that bring up Jory Collins, his team was in the SL Semifinals the first two years and his team took third his second year in regular season play.

Fourth year, his team took second in regular season play.

I'm no expert but I have to believe that Collins inherited a little more than Hutter.

People forget about jesting the Bison WBB teams prior to Collins on this board.  The Walseth years.

They were  4-12 in conference the year prior.  2-12 in conference the year prior to that.

Chill out dude.  I am not that the one that initiated the talk about how long it took Jory to turn around the Bison progam.

I am aware that UND went to the big dance winning the Big Sky Conference tournament.  I was around when UND won 3 natties in a row and a runner-up in D2.

NDSU made commitment after Jory Collins was hired in basketball and they improved facilities and money for women’s basketball. Second when he started we didn’t have portal and NIl money involved. He inherited two players in beginning with above average center and very good point guard to start building team around but he even struggled in the beginning having trouble getting team chemistry but continued to find players out of twin cities and Iowa to build this team. Then this past year when Schiller transferred he finally found point guard he needed. Now it appears this team will stay together for another year to reach NCAA tournament. Also there are not many job openings right now for him to move on that are better than NDSU in Midwest.
The bottom line for UND in this coming year our goal will be find couple more players that combined with few of this years younger players come together to crest score of players to begin to compete in the conference increase win total to 10 to 15 games if things go well. To win at DI level need experienced players even NDSU learned this year there team had a lot of success but to win conference you need core of seniors when it comes down the stretch which they didn’t have. My hope with these last roster spots were able to find couple of players that puts ahead of schedule and we can keep in the program. Now let’s hear how we cand do this in one or two years to top of the conference.

I appreciate your posts.  Keep doing what you do.

I do not expect a conference title in the next two years.  All I expect is improvement to where it is looking like we are trending in the right direction.

I will say I don't think the Coach helped himself in the media.  I will leave it at that.

Jory also didn't have the opportunity to acquire talent in the portal when he started.

I know Hutter will be in the Comet Hall of Fame.  Fair or not, he will evaluated on this board based on what he does at UND.

Brewster was a two time Big Sky coach of the year.  I believe he had around a .833 winning percentage in the NAIA and was a NAIA conference coach of the year.  Yet, you will hear more about the Summit years.

We will see if things trend up this year.

Brewstertime here at UND was something unique in yes he had success but I also think his success and health problems eventually brought him to his dismal. His success came early here and I think he thought he was going to move on to next level which never came which is probably known in college AD circles. Second he had major back problems when here which I think effected his work which is not unusual when dealing with on going pain. Then combining that I believe with frustration of not getting opportunities he believed he deserved  started environment of putting his time to program and that bled over into his player recruitment  and coaching weakening the program. Until he was finally dismissed as coach.
Bernhard assistant coach and being former player well liked at school and community was promoted following UND history of working way up in coaching ranks. The problem here this put on long deterioration of program to ultimate deystoying what Roebuck had built here in his tenure. What showed she was not ready to be head coach and did not have enough experience to become head coach and second get on fast curve of learning and developing her coaching skills but followed her history as she played the game. Then it came to assistant coaching changes until administration I believe put pressure on to find help with experienced assistant coaching skills but enter Hutter where we are now.

i will not go further but What we have now fan base frustrated and they think we’re in much stronger position and just matter one new higher we will have conference championship in year or two this is not the case now. This is going to take time rebuild we have number of good positives but we also have number deficiencies that need to be addressed plus greatest shake up in division I sports in past 60 years. Basically we’re back where small mid majors are playing for conference championships and zero chance of having impact on national level in major sports.
