Michigan still 1-9 in Frozen Four games from 2000-present, but they have a chance to change some narratives in an hour

Forgot about the Wolverines.

Jax needs to make a call to TJ and come up with a pp that is better.

They need to shoot off the pass. They waste time skating with the puck. Shoot the damn puck.

It's not like they dominated and lost, which feels worse.  The better team won.

I don't think it was because UND didn't show up.  Wisconsin was big, strong and fast, and they just didn't allow much of anything.  Tonight they played like Mankato, but this time Mankato had much better athletes.

It stinks to have wasted a great goaltending performance, and also a rare game where the stripes were on your side.

Coulda used a touch of puck luck to get them going.

North Dakota didn't come out ready to handle a fast & physical forecheck, which was very clear. Idk if that's "not showing up", but it's clear they weren't ready to adjust to Wisconsin's style game, nor ready to impose their skill & will on the Badgers

Verhoeff didn't look great at all on the PP. They just put him in the Ovechkin spot expecting him to blast 1 Ts past the goalie which didn't happen much all year. Just vanilla PP design

The middle is open and Duluth feasts off the bumper like other teams. This parameter play doesn't work and should have been addressed toward the end of the season.

A shame such a great season has to come to an end like this.  Doesn’t change a thing, boys, we know what the expectations at North Dakota are.  Thanks for a memorable season.  Chin up, brighter days are ahead.

To get there was incredible, considering I felt they were probably a year away going into this season. But not showing up well until late in tonight's Semifinal was embarrassing, sadly

Wisconsin had their chances and played hard to win

but

we had enough chances to win - time and time again grade A chances - we should have scored at least four goals to win this thing ——-  such is hockey

Wisco coaches just paid attention to how Duluth played us.

Plus you can't just phone it in for the Frozen Four.

So did we get out coached

I don't know.  That 5 OT game against Duluth, I could live with that.  We played our hearts out.  I couldn't ask them to do any more in that game.  This game felt like the players were just not ready for moment at all.

Hoping Calgary tells Reschny to go back for one more year and whoever drafts Verhoeff (could be my Blackhawks) tells him to go back for another year

Much agreed.  Wisconsin deserved to win the game.  Dictated play that entire first period.

I think their goaltender was good, maybe the #1 star, maybe not.  Not like Hunwick who flat out stole the game.  Our guys gotta bear down too and finish.

Our goaltender's performance was what kept the game from being 5-1 and a laugher.  A great performance by Jan Spunar.

I don’t think we were ready to play against an aggressive good team. Our schedule this year wasn’t the most difficult, especially non-conference. In conference we only played Denver and WMU twice each. Wisconsin came out and set the tone early and we couldn’t recover. We had enough power plays, one a 5-3 for 1:56 and we never came close to scoring against the 62nd ranked penalty kill. Unacceptable. Too many turnovers in the defensive end, and frankly we looked very slow at times going after pucks.  They really need to add a couple of true goal scorers for next season. I would like to get back to have a truly dominant top line.
While I think the program is headed in the right direction now, it is still a giant letdown that the season ends with this type of performance. Need to take advantage of these opportunities when they arise and it feels like we missed a big one.
