If we lose guys over $1M, that's fine. I get it.

But if we lose our entire team every year, that's not acceptable.

The $1M offers are not available to everyone that enters the portal.

We have to build a program where you lose a few high-end players to big NIL deals, but return enough of a nucleus so you aren't starting over from scratch every year.

If we lost our entire to team to the portal that would be fantastic. Because that would mean we went nearly undefeated and won a game or two in the tournament.

i do miss the amateur aspect of what used to be college sports and the olympics.....

what the old guys like guldseth and vonesh and tuttle (and others...not just und guys) and others that played before nil should sue the crap out of the ncaa for lost revenue and backrupt the ncaa and start over at square one.

Why do people care so much what others do with their money?? Seems like backwards thinking to me

Because it’s literally the only thing that matters anymore, Dad.  If they screw it up they now are going to school somewhere they don’t want to and paying for it eventually.

And this is your job to decide if they screwed it up?

What is different about St Thomas?  They don't have anyone listed in the portal on verbal commits.  Is it the NIL $ or player/coach relationship, or a combination?

UST flagshipped basketball and left football in the doldrums of the non-scholarship Pioneer League, so the circumstances are a bit different. They have gone all-in on their hoops NIL so they might be able to retain some more talent. There's also a few other things working in their favor from a facilities and location standpoint. That said, they're not immune either. Andrew Rohde and Kendell Blue both defected after good seasons.

How nil money per year does st Thomas have for basketball?

I won’t believe it until next school year starts, tbh.

Does seem odd, but heard rumblings of this in January that it was a possibility. Like everyone else, we'll have to wait and see who's left standing.

If somebody wants to hire me by all means. Until then I’ll just give my opinion, which is worth as much as yours.

I had heard they had a $700K roster last year. Who knows if that's true, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Wowzers and we took 2 out of 3 from them.

Anyone know what our total NIL was last year? Wasn’t the rumor that Eli was the highest at 25k?

I would guess a max of $100k and that’s probably aggressive.

I heard roughly the same and that most of their players were receiving at least some NIL

I would have guessed both Eli and Anderson were probably at this mark
