Yeah, 12 points as a sophomore doesn’t scream ready for prime time.  Could say something about how he feels about Powers.

Wonder if it’s not a school thing.  Left Ohio State mid year last year for Oshawa and then went to ASU this year.  Maybe just doesn’t like class.

We sometimes forget that these kids are signed up for a university level academic experience (even though we know that tutors and watered-down curricula can make a mockery of that).

He must have been, as it shows he played two years at Providence and two at Arizona State.  The College Hockey News app shows him as a junior.  I thought Kyle Smolen was a senior, but it looks like the app is right with him as a junior.

In this era now do we still count him and any other player as former UND to be the NHL on the wall in the team area at the Ralph?

I do not believe any player has as of yet transferred FROM UND and then gone on to appear in an NHL game, Sasha Boisvert appears to be a first in this programs history.

The CHN almanac lists players such as Jason Blake and Isaac Howard with a notation of both teams played for in their list of former NCAA players to have appeared in the NHL.   

Trivia time... there's only been in the history of the NCAA about 15 or so players to have done this... the list will grow exponentially into the future but rather a rare feat as of now.

So, I would say Boisvert would be on the growing list of the UND program's claim of having, at this time, the "EDIT 3rd most" former players to have played in the NHL (UMtc still has the most, and Michigan has passed UND as well in the past 5 years, and BU is right on the heels) 

Sasha may be on a much smaller list, or potentially, the only player in NCAA history to have reached the NHL after playing for 2 programs and have been rolled by a couple of frat boys
