Thought maybe the boys would run them out of the rink tonight after going up 3-1 but credit to the Clowns who just kept coming at UND the entire game.  Brett Larson is a hell of a coach and had his guys dialed in.  Still love watching this group but puzzled by the recent defensive struggles on what look to be simple plays.  Happy for the seniors that go out on a high note at home and happier that my family got to see the games live this weekend.  Let's go kick Western's ass!

I'm interested to see how UND matches up against WMU this year.  Last year it wasn't close unfortunately.
I'd guess that there's a good chance we'll see them later in the NCHC tourney as well.

For the NCAA, I think Mich, MSU, WMU, and DU are the main teams that I hope UND avoids in regionals.

I would maybe add UMD to that list. In an ideal situation, two thirds of the NCHC team on that list get in the DU regional and the other gets a different region. I’ve never been a fan of teams playing teams from their own conference in the regionals.

Take for example the UND Women’s team. Who’s to say how far they could have gone if they didn’t play #1 Minnesota in the first round during their string of NCAA tourney runs?

What UND is doing is along the lines of what the Bears did in the NFL.   Winning in dramatic fashion but not very pretty along the way.

The WCHA is so much better than everyone else they always have two WCHA teams play each other to start the NCAAs. The Women’s Frozen Four is the WCHA Invitational

If SCSU swept UND this past weekend they would have moved up to #18 and UND would be hanging on to the #4 seed by .01 over Penn State. Huge 3rd periods.

After watching Western against CC this past weekend, they definitely can be had. If not for Western's goalie they would have been eliminated for the Penrose. They are tenacious forecheckers but not impressed at all with their D corps. They don't deserve a top seed in the regionals. I see a split and 3 points this weekend at worst. Raise the cup in the Zoo! (That's Kalamazoo for you Michigan illiterates.)
