It hurts to lose this game. I thought it was a AWESOME season!!! I am excited for next year!!! Hopefully we don't lose people to the portal.

Good season.  Could have been better. Tough schedule, but gotta win the close ones. Need to revisit K, OC, and QB issues. Very disappointed Simon didn't get a chance to change this game.

Just so questionable in what Simon did to give no trust in even giving him a shot. Would've thought the 2nd half at TT wouldve already granted a chance especially with a QB1 who potentially still showing questionable decision making 1 week after a concussion. And QB2 has been out for the season since Indiana St.

Fully behind the new staff, however really have to question why Senior Simon did not see the field - especially after that second interception. Jerry will be fine, have to believe there is something amiss with the way he digressed.

I think Isaac and Olson were retained for helping keeping roster together after Bubba retired. This year may have been the year see if he stays permanently. After the second half collapse offense this season, I am hoping Issac has applied for some D2 or FCS head coaching (I think that is his goal to be a HC). If that happens Olson would probably go to. If so, I think our TE coach will get promoted, and Schmidt brings in an OL coach and QB coach next year.

If no change, I am certain there will be some changes with scheme or offensive approach. Schmidt said coaches/players are held accountable, Schmidt is an ultra competitor, something will have to change on offense.

Bad games happen (NDSU showed that today) string of games like we had, then there needs to be adjustments on what you are scheming or utilizing players.

I am babbling so I better stop.

It sure is a disappointing end!!! I wish we did better too!

Nope. We would have lost to everyone else w our offensive ineptness.

Exactly. Schmidt has done an extraordinary job with this program in a very short period of time. But we still lack the depth and elite talent needed to make a deep playoff run.

The staff will need to hit the portal hard this off-season. The recruiting so far has been impressive and I think those kids will be called upon very early in their collegiate careers.

But there absolutely needs to be a change at OC. It isn't all about the lack of execution on the field; coaching and play calling are very important at this level. Schmidt needs to find someone he has coached with during his travels and put him in at OC. The offense was absolutely offensive during the second half of the year and that has to change in 2026.

Talk of getting rid of OC along with QB doesn’t make sense to me.

NO ONE talked of dumping OC when QB was good.

Must get a Championship QB then see what OC does,

Also, Online was way overrated

I suspect there will be change/transition

the last 6 games hurt the soul

Schmidt brought in new energy and enthusiasm - however, if you look at our season we lost to every tough team we played amid horrible play calling.  The devolution of Jerry is like something I have never seen before - yet every game was the same - a big third down - hey let's throw long even though that has not worked once this season.  Changes need to be made (not saying Schmidt - saying he has to be the one to make the changes).

No one told our player to do that. His mistake was he was running toward the punter and jumped up to block the kick and landed on the blocker. That is also a penalty. It looked worse cuz blocker upended him. Still a penalty on us.
You tend to assume every mistake by a player on special teams is a coaches fault. It isn’t. Just in case you want to blame Kostich for the fake punt, he doesn’t make that call, even if he thought it would work.

keep stitchin'....

Have to think the coaches were trying to protect Jerry's confidence as best they could by not pulling him. Having him go out there and struggle for the 6th game in a row can't be great for confidence either though. Hopefully he comes back as early season Jerry this spring and next fall.

Yes, need an OC that doesn't anchor his pride on playing in the Big 10 and being a zero reception NFL practice squadder.  If that helps him deflect criticism that's between him and his therapist.  OC and QB positions are wide open and up for grabs, they must be!!

You can defend Mr. B1G/NFL all you want, but he's part of the problem on offense and needs to go. Schmidt needs to put one of his guys in that job

It makes sense if you consider defenses evolved during the season vrs us and we not only did not evolve, but regressed.

I did. And I saw the QB under throw a pass for INT with a wide open receiver in the 4th to seal it and he missed a wide open guy on the 4 yard line

There are no great calls if you can’t run against stacked box and QB can’t make them pay for it

Go route is logical play against press coverage with 8 or 9 man box, Jerry never stopped believing he could make the throw despite his struggles

I got a little heat during the week when I said there was too much Kelly Green goggles on.....thinking that our offense would magically start rolling this week due to Z being back,  or Romfo in...etc..  Usually there is enough negativity on this board so I never have to be. But I felt we'd would struggle to score 20 points today. I was thinking 31-24 Tarelton today, giving us benefit of the doubt and actually see scoring 24 against them. 7 of our points came from getting the ball at the 10 yard line. I had seen nothing leading into the week that felt we'd somehow revert to the UND offense from earlier in the year. I am not surprised one bit in the game today. Our defense was really good, our offense sucked....like it has for weeks now.

In my opinion today's offense being inept again, solidified we need a change at OC.

it did "work" a little better when z got some touches...but it was a little too late at that point almost....

Yup, I  think they are trying to insure Jerry comes back. Should have just started Simon and taken our chances. Offensive creativity was putrid. Jr. HS level innovation.
