I remember one time during the D-II days, UND went to one of the South Dakota schools (I think it was SDSU) the week before the Bison game and got embarrassed, then beat the Bison the next week.  I tried looking up the year that would have happened, but UND football history before 1998 is not easily accessible on the internet.  Anyone know of a good spot to get 20th century UND football history?

I think it was at South Dakota in the Dakota Dome in 1995. The final was 35-0. Nothing went right, everything went wrong. That place has always been hard for us.

I looked it up. Looks like we beat Morningside on the road before beating the Bison 21-7 at home.

This is awesome!  I have saved the game results pages for future referencing.  I don't see any other scenario during that era that fits my memory like the 1995 season you pointed out.  I had forgotten about the Morningside game in between.

Team played their worst game of the year with issues that haven't popped up this season in all 3 phases, lost the turnover battle by 3 and still had two chances at the end to win the game. Clean up the penalties (which were hugely uncharacteristic based on the first 8 games), take care of the ball and the rest will take care of itself. Time to rebound and make a statement that it was a fluke.

No clue what's going to happen here.  Both teams are much better coached than the last beatdown at the Alerus.  Payton seems to be the real deal and he's got a loaded group of WR and TE to throw to as well.  Haven't seen enough of UND to comment specifically, but I think if Jerry is on NDSU can be had with some of the shorter passing game type stuff.  NDSU has been super opportunistic this year, if UND rolls with zero turnovers it's a ballgame to the final 00s.  

Seems to be at times NDSU has had some horse shoe luck on some big plays...but sometimes in sports that is earned as well.  Perhaps a big special teams play either way will swing this game. 

Should be a crazy environment.
