Yeah offensively he didn’t bring a lo but that wasn’t his job. EJ without the puck is an unreal defenseman; he is a top 4 guy on this team for shutting down opposing players. 1 1 Quote

Manitoba's goalie was teammates with Reschny and Verhoeff in Victoria, and Dawson Pastrnak played with them in Victoria as well as with Zakreski in Portland. And this is just from names I recognized. P.S. Johnny Hooker sounds like a name from a mobster video game. Props to him for using Johnny. 1 Quote

I think they’ll have to use the extra skater as a D when they’re all healthy. They’ll want to develop the young guys for future since they could lose a lot after this year. I know it was just exhibition but not sure how you sit Laurila after that game. His breakouts and transition were so good. Seemed like every time he touched puck it was tape to tape going the other way in a hurry. 1 Quote

InHeavenThereIsNoBeer Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago While I definitely saw the potential with Laurila, I thought he looked shaky to start but he’ll get better. Said it already but I’m just thankful we have a more veteran group that can allow him to learn without playing 20 minutes a game as was the case last season. 1 Quote

He was expected to be more of a depth guy, but he had a very good game last night. Didn't see this one coming. 1 Quote

Sioux90 Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago So big question. Who the extra skater, and who’s out of the lineup next weekend? Quote

Not sure how he sits. 1 Quote
beastandco Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago I wasn’t able to watch a lot of the game last night. Who was on the power play units? Did Verhoeff get any power play time? It seems like the Swanson-Reschny-Kernan line has some good chemistry. Quote

This will be a fun group to watch. 1 Quote

Popular Post UND WFO78 Posted 21 hours ago Popular Post Posted 21 hours ago No mention of #8 here? I thought Josephson really stood out tonight. Hard skater, bigger stature, tons of compete, I really look forward to this entire roster, but he just stood out a little more tonight. 5 Quote
.357 Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Any thoughts on the much-anticipated Verhoeff? A lot of hype on him this off-season, but not much talk of him in this thread. Littler looks like a moose without antlers, guy's a specimen. 1 Quote

He had his stick up for some one timers on the PP, one in particular that Zellers should have passed. Finally got one at the end of the game and hit the post. He looks very impressive for a barely 17 year old. That being said he made a couple turnovers but nothing egregious. Last night felt like there wasn’t enough pucks to go around. A lot of weapons, it’ll be up to the coaching staff to figure out how they all work best together. 2 Quote

Aside from the @brianvf committed recruits stats updates, 100% we say here is subjective. We’d have to shut the site down otherwise lol 1 Quote
burd Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago A lot to be optimistic about after last night. Hopefully, we’ll still feel this way next Sunday. 1 Quote
