UND92,96 Posted November 5 Posted November 5 It appears that with both Demers and Ava Miller starting, that means there's going to be a lot of small lineups when one or both are out. I am assuming Ohnstad is backing up Ava, but she was in immediate foul trouble last night, so that created a problem since the options off the bench at the 4 are limited. Demers doesn't really have a backup, and she generally only plays 18-22 minutes per game, so that's an issue. VanderWal, the only other 5 on the roster, only played one minute, so I can only assume she's not going to play much again this season. Hanna Miller was the only player on the roster (aside from Klosterbuer who we know is out for the season) not to play, so I don't know if that means she's also injured. She's really the only other option on the roster to play at the 4 or 5. Quote
Kab Posted November 5 Posted November 5 Going to take a while to get these ladies going, losing so many players , but I have trust in this coach to build a program Quote

und1995 Posted Saturday at 01:50 AM Posted Saturday at 01:50 AM UND women have a 7 point halftime lead, 32-25, despite shooting 2-17 on 3 pointers. Quote

NewUndFan Posted Saturday at 03:47 AM Posted Saturday at 03:47 AM Way to many bad 3s. Not sure why so many were taken when we are so bad at them. Passing looked good tonight. Quote
ND-fan Posted Saturday at 03:50 PM Author Posted Saturday at 03:50 PM I thought we showed our youth tonight making poor decisions and taking poor shots plus I can see rushing our shots. Demers also tried to much carry team offensively late in game instead of working ball in and kicking it out. Also thought refereeing called a lot of carring basketball which created several turnovers only thing calls were equally bad both ways. We need to develop more post play from one of new players can see this will priority in pre conference season. Bottom line though the loss of number of players show we are in rebuilding mode and this is going to continue with five or six seniors on the team. The loss of talent we had on last years team if they had returned we had chance to push SDSU this year but that’s over now we have to build with girls we have now. On paper we look to have added players that can again develop into quality team but it’s going to take time. I expected some better 3 point shooting but has to come from players having confidence in their shooting and getting themselves set up to take shots they know they can make. Hutter and his staff a lot of work to teach and work finding to bring out strengths in this team. My hope by end of season we can make run at some of teams in the conference. 1 Quote

Saw most of the 2nd half vs Youngstown St and it was tough to watch at times. There’s not a lot to work with and if any injuries befell any of our top players, look out. Not breaking news with the mass exodus of players (some good one’s) following last season but this will be a long season with a ton of improvement needed. Just going to have to be patient with coach Hutter and hope within 2-3 years he has the ship on course/righted. I think he’s a good fit for the job but it will take patience. 1 Quote

As cool of a story it is to have your PG coming from NAIA to D1 its been a struggle and that's being kind. A buddy of mine who coaches HS BB in ND told me he feels this a low single digit win team. 1 Quote
UND1983 Posted yesterday at 02:14 AM Posted yesterday at 02:14 AM At some point can UND hire a coach that understands what a D1 women's basketball player is supposed to look like? We had more length at the D2 level 1 Quote
