It wasn't much of anything just said super conference was coming or in the works did some misread "Summit Conference" for "Super Conference"???? assume that isn't good news for the d2 schools out west....duluth,scsu, and cc intrigued.....there aint much around out to move around unless east wants part of the west or visa versa? Popular Post cberkas Posted Wednesday at 06:24 PM Popular Post Posted Wednesday at 06:24 PM Next time they do another job posting for the head coach: Don't make it a 3-day search. Don't be scared of the portal during the search, the assistants should be talking to the current players and recruits to keep them there. Take their time getting the right guy not the most convenient one. Don't have a part that says, "you have to have a connection to UND." That basically makes the pool of coaches very small. Having someone not from the UND family breathes new life and new perspective into the program. Don't have a specific amount of years coaching in the NHL/NCAA. There are plenty of coaches that have experience at these levels that are coaching in the CHL, USHL, and AHL, but don't have the specific years' experience asked for. 1 6 Quote

Weather should be about dead last in a recruits mind when considering where to go to get to the next level (NHL). During the season these guys are so busy between hockey, school, and travel they shouldn’t have time to worry about weather. In fact the only down time they have is when they are on the road - then they can soak up whatever weather they have at the time. In addition, the weather around here and in lakes country from May-October when they have tons of down time is just as good as it is anywhere. They are a big fish in a small pond at UND and have a lot of perks at UND you can’t find at other bigger schools where they would be small fish in huge pond. Show them the UND/NHL wall at ice level of the Ralph…weather concerns will melt away. Not getting stabbed in class at UND vs ASU Quote

yzerman19 Posted Wednesday at 06:55 PM Posted Wednesday at 06:55 PM I'm actually sitting in a Detroit suburb right now. Detroit has a lot of work to do, but they are trying. Downtown by the stadiums is actually really safe and awesome now. There are suburbs...West Bloomfield, Grosse Pointe...that are like Edina f'd Wayzata. Quote
nascar99 Posted Wednesday at 06:56 PM Posted Wednesday at 06:56 PM Listened to the Schloss Cast today, he did his normal narrative spinning, but made some good points including the need for good assistant coaches. So whoever gets the head coaching job needs to have good assistants on staff who can relate to the players as well as recruit well. 3 Quote
yzerman19 Posted Wednesday at 06:56 PM Posted Wednesday at 06:56 PM Ann Arbour is a beautiful college town right next to a major city Quote

SIOUXELEVENS Posted Wednesday at 07:00 PM Posted Wednesday at 07:00 PM Brad S brought up something that made sense we have had 4 coaches on the bench all year where most teams have 2-3. Assist. Coaches traveling and scouting players building relationships with coaches and GM’s 4 Quote
yzerman19 Posted Wednesday at 07:00 PM Posted Wednesday at 07:00 PM I think this is what our program really needs to think about...outside in vs inside out...the fire and love and hate on this board is just the artifact of the most passionate fanbase in college hockey. Nobody on this board is truly in the loop, but we all care. 1 Quote

yzerman19 Posted Wednesday at 07:08 PM Posted Wednesday at 07:08 PM i was drinking last night, but working and thinking today. The bottom line is this is absolutely a key moment in our future. SCSU has fallen big time since the start of the NCHC...Duluth had a run, built a killer arena, but they are now falling- the best player in the country this year bailed after his freshman year there. NCHC is a formidable college conference, but we are facing the big big money guys 1 Quote

After that they fell to where they probably should have been. Quote
