I think this also excludes Dane Jackson from being the hire. If they promoted from within, they wouldn't be advertising the job externally now.

I don't think it excludes him like we would think. It just means that he will have to go through the process like anyone else, nothing wrong with that and I actually find that to be a more thorough way of vetting the next coach. This is a make or break hire for Chaves, so he has to nail it. If Dane is the guy, so be it but at least Chaves left no stone unturned.

No, Jax is 99% gone too.  They wouldn't have announced a search, and typically a new sheriff wants his own deputies.  This allows an interim agreement for Dane to keep the trains moving (likely with a significant amount of cash for a short period aka retention bonus through Sept 1).  Its a way of getting him some more cash for his years of good work and to keep continuity while the new guy gets organized.

Sorry if this has already been asked, is Hak currently employed? I live over by him in GF and I see him all the time.

No, but Seattle is still paying him.

Matt greene and toews what???

Greene has been silently working in scouting and player development for the kings since he was bought out of his contract. As much as I'd like to see him come coach, he just doesn't have the time built up and IF hired, he will be destined for failure (not from his own doings either). Jeff Blashill is an interesting candidate that has had his name thrown around though.

That list is interesting when a good amount don't even meet the qualifications the job posting has.

Haha......exactly.

Ya, you could cross about 3/4 of those names off the list. This is typical Schlossman "reporting".

Agree. That read like a column-inches filler.

If BSchloss was going to throw it at the wall, why not KG and Simmer on that list.

Heck, why not Oxbow, Mafia, and me for that matter.

And Nick Fohr.

Not understanding why Schlossman & another poster here would consider HC Ben Barr of Maine as a possibility. He's already got it made there.

Money, facilities, and resources are not even in the same stratosphere.

And Nick Fohr.

Nick Fohr is a great guy and a solid coach.  The style of play and response from players during his tenure at NTDP has not been good.
