Ahh, but the apparel oft proclaims the man.

Seriously, if there were locker room problems last year, like many here claimed, and those problems have the potential to spill over into this year, I trust that the players will pick a captain who is most able to fix or mitigate those problems.

And a captain who keeps his hands to himself around other guys' lady friends.

Rule 6 - Captain and Alternate Captains
6.1 Captain -
One game captain shall be appointed by each team, and shall be the only player to have the privilege of discussing with the referee any questions relating to interpretation of rules that may arise during the progress of a game.

Summary: Only one player can wear a C.

I did not know that only one player can wear a “C” in college.

I would prefer James but would be cool with Livanavage too.

I still have PTSD from the “this is your captain speaking” captain announcement. I never was a fan of Jamernik.

Judging by the outlines, I think Wiebe is up there rather than Strinden

I assumed the announcement is related to new jerseys, but I can certainly see it revealing captains. Just not certain it is. I'll stick to my guess ☺️

Don't the players have a vote for captains?
If so, might be hard to do that already being that the roster isn't even set and some players aren't back in GF yet.

The BSU series drives me nuts. High risk, no reward.

Thinking about this again after looking at the non-conference schedule again: there's nothing wrong with playing Bemidji State every other year. But they're not a powerhouse & other than being a regional, close by opponent, they don't get me excited to see on the schedule. As I've said in previous posts, I'd rather be guaranteed to play Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, & Boston College or Boston University every year.

St Thomas coming into the NCHC doesn't inspire me either & eats into the available amount of non conference games (unless the NCHC is re-doing the allotment of conference games).

Raucous games in St Thomas' new barn will be good for recruiting in the cities, which is admittedly less important than it was prior to MJ eligibility changing.

Won't be long before UST has more draft picks on their roster than Duluth, Omaha, etc.

I'm interested to see how true/consistent this could be. Nebraska Omaha and Colorado College will be recruiting Dub guys pretty hard moving forward, & many of those guys will be mid-later round picks. So many teams recruit MSP Metro so it'll be interesting to see how many Tier 1 & Tier 2 talents St Thomas can get. Someone on GPL said that St Thomas has done fairly well already with early offering & committing Metro guys before they blow up & take another step to get offers from Minnesota, North Dakota, Denver, Wisconsin.

If St Thomas takes a step as a program & becomes a consistent tournament team over the next few years, maybe I'll feel differently, but I just don't get excited seeing them on the 2025-26 schedule.

Not an unknown right now. He's on track to be ready to go.

Yeah, I was thinking more of his ability to stay healthy.

Speaking of injuries - seems that Laurilla might be banged up currently. (They replaced him with a different defenseman for WJC summer showcase today)

Ya…pissed I was going to watch them this weekend

Shiny new arena close to home and not located in what is no longer the Dinkytown of my youth is going to appeal to blue chips from Edina, Tonka, etc.

I thought UNO's MJ kids were mostly transfers from USports?

A lot but not all. Nguyen (Dub), Woodworth (Q), & Sova (O) are all 2004s that were very solid producers in junior. I'm actually excited to see how UNO does in the NCHC this season.

St Thomas doesn't have the tradition/history of North Dakota, Minnesota, Denver, Michigan, Wisconsin, & even Minnesota Duluth at this point. Part of the reason why I don't get excited about them on the schedule.

If they look like the 1993s or the Nashvilles it'll be vastly underwhelming.

I’m hoping this is what they are. I like that design. It’d no doubt be an improvement over what we have right now

Big time disagree. I like those ones a lot. Without featuring the Hawk, not sure where else they could really go.

I've never one to believe a guy is "injury prone" as injuries don't follow trends very often, so I get the sentiment. I think Big Z is a helluva player and until he gets hurt again, I'm 100% willing to rely on him as a player.
