He said the “old Coach Berry” so I would have to assume it was Berry. I don’t believe Berry would undermine the program to get even. Zellers has multiple UND ties and his Grandparents are very excited to see him play here.

Could be that he simply wanted to catch up with him. When you recruit a player you get to know them and become invested in their successes

If these NIL numbers being thrown around for Boisvert and Perron are even close to accurate...how is that UND can't raise that with relative ease?
$50-150k or so?  Seems crazy that this couldn't be raised in a matter of days from all the UND alum and supporters if they raised awareness about it.

The awareness has been raised on this forum. Some don’t like that, some have responded, many wait until they are gone then want to know why someone else isn’t donating the money.

What makes you think that UND is having difficulty raising the needed funds? Haven't seen Schlossman reporting such unless I missed it.

Who knows at this point.  Hopefully UND can match if that is all that would be needed to retain them.

Is that the case though? How exactly does the "buyout" work is he paid an immediate lump sum and all aspects terminated ?

or is he still just getting the paycheck until contract term is over with no role or responsibility.

I dont know how that works so asking not implying.

I dont know how that works so asking not implying.

I believe it works this way….He is technically unemployed and there for can do as he wishes until he is hired to coach again. Then it comes down to a numbers game on difference between what he is owed by UND and what new school/hockey employer is paying him. 
 
But he is certainly  free to have any conversation he wants with whomever he chooses to.

Let’s hope the new HC is taking notes on what is needed to get far in post season by observing the DU/BU game.

UND has a ways to go to get to this level. And, constantly raiding the portal to fill holes, as was the case the past few years, is not the way to go.
