While it appears North Dakota has a commitment from ASU G Gibson Homer, I believe they have interest in Knapp as well.

Wonder if UND and Homer both believe he will be ready to sign an NHL contract with his resume and size after 1 year as a full time starter. Bring in Knapp along with him who has 3 years left and then Heil next year. Hearing that Miami is also a potential spot for Knapp though.

So are we officially on Hobie Watch now?

We've found out quite a bit that the grass isn't always greener, and that you need to compete for the job at most places, but I guess we will see if he chooses to go that route.  Think of all the times where UND has had two guys that played a bit, then the hot goalie took the net down the stretch.

Honestly, his chances of playing are not greater if he enters the portal. A sub-.900 save percentage is not that attractive. Unless he goes lower half of CCHA or AHA he will be a back-up/competing for starts wherever (if) he goes. I’m very neutral on what he chooses to do.

I hate agreeing with this. But I kind of do.  My heart says no but the matter between the ears says yes. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I really do like Hedquist. Timing is getting tricky. If Homer's intention is to be here two years, I think it'd be beneficial to all if Hedquist entered and go with Homer / Heil next year.

He's a better goalie than his save percentage.  He had a wretched team around him defensively the stretches of time he was in the net. Even TJ's % was poor the first half of the year, especially when surrounded by our abysmal PK the first 3 months. He's good enough to be a starter somewhere in D1. Unfortunately, I'm just not sure that it's the NCHC.

Sounds like OMac to WMU

Seravalli would know. He's from Philadelphia, McLaughlin is from the Philadelphia suburbs & is a Flyers prospect. Flyers Team President Keith Jones (went to Western Michigan and played with Ferschweiler for a year or two at WMU) is probably steering OMac to the Broncos.

I just don't see how he fits. WMU plays such a high-paced, physical game. OMac is relatively high-paced, but he is soft as Charmin. I can count on one hand how many times I saw that kid go into a corner and win a battle.

I have been thinking the same thing.

They play a skill game…they move pucks and posses. He should fit in there.

could be why we sucked...trying to have omac being a grinder in the corner kind of guy...not his style...like @scpa0305 said above...he might do very well over there if used correctly.

It’s 100% why. Swanson, Omac, Perron…incoming Zellers. They want to hold onto pucks..not constantly have to win 50/50 battles. Winning battles is important, but if we already have the puck, keep it.

is this anti "get pucks deep"?  I generally agree with you, just always looking to learn.

Swanson should not be in the same sentence as Perron and O-Mac. Dude is a stud and plays hard. USHL player of the year, champion. He’ll take a second. He’s 5’8

That's gonna make some entertaining games when the S Bros come here and OMac goes there.
Agreed though...their physical game isn't something I see OMac all of a sudden doing after not playing that game for 3 years here.

I don't think he's referring to his effort or toughness. He's referring to his style of play and the type of system that fits his skill set.

I think they have guys that have skill without a doubt, but to me, they are all about going north and outworking their opponent. That's not OMac.

This one pisses me off. I mean Boisvert hurts more and was infuriating. But with Jax taking over and likely making big changes to our systems, Omac could have thrived next year.  It's more the principle of the matter haha
