They were one game above .500 in conference play and for the season.

I guess I listened to it as he saw that team outshooting the opposing team constantly but couldn’t bury and then the following year it broke through.

That might be a fair assessment, though, to be honest.  "Close to being good" implies that they were not yet a good team, and certainly not great.  At 18-17-2, the 2018-2019 team was pretty damn average.

I am not saying that we should be but I think what Brad said is being misconstrued a bit. I’ve been anti Berry for some time now.

Update on second half of schlosscast- basically recognize this season is over by talking about how good this team could be next couple years with current commits. Say Zellers will be good, but every other forward recruit either doesn’t score or isn’t close to ready for college lol. Hammer portal hard per usual.

   This is what I feel is the biggest issue.  I don't think this program aspires to have 2 good years in the conference with no post season success, then 2 not so great years.  I do think that is a reflection of roster management, and in my judgement it hasn't been that good, especially considering that you have the portal to draw from should any of your classes be uneven because someone leaves for the NHL.  Let's face it, every team can look back at a few games here or there that could have lifted them to a tournament appearance or higher finish in the league.  I get that sometimes you lose with great performances, but what we have seen lately are inconsistent performances with inconsistent effort, which is a head scratcher when you are in the predicament UND has been in since November.

I will assume we don't have a home regional next year if we make the tournament, since that seems to be the pattern.  When people talk about having to play Michigan last year, one has to say, why was that the case.  Because you lost 4 out of 5 to Omaha, and all 4 to Colorado College.   Just those two things should call for serious contemplation, but when you are talking close to a decade without tournament success, the next year thing starts to get a little old.   Already starting to find acceptable teams to pull for to win the championship this year, as it is getting late fast.

Not really a fair assessment just listening halfway through. Schloss and Jason were both about as critical of this team as I've ever heard them. A lot of talk about not being hard to play against and guys that were brought in to play certain roles not doing so.  In my opinion it was a good, nuanced discussion about why and how this team is struggling.

Yeah they dogged on the team more than ever. Especially when they mentioned that anytime UND takes a penalty you can expect the puck to end up in the net

Good PK involves hard work, discipline, and getting the big save when you need it. Could explain why we are near the bottom of college hockey.

Good point, I agree that’s as critical as I’ve heard them too. I just think their harshest opinions are far too charitable. How has the fact this season happpens half the seasons with Berry never been discussed. They know what the fans are talking about and dance around engaging with it in my view
