I was at Pedal Haus and ASU's patio last weekend. Unless ASU is doing something different from last weekend, Pedal Haus is probably your best option. The pre party is outdoor seating but they do have some heaters. It probably didn't help that I was at the AS arena for the 3:00 pm Cornell v. UMass game with lackluster attendance. Quote

Last one I saw wasn't busy since they were letting people in the arena when I got there Quote
brianvf Posted January 10 Posted January 10 https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/und-hockey/north-dakota-arizona-state-connections-are-aplenty Quote The first player UND ever recruited out of Arizona sat in corner of Mullett Arena on Thursday afternoon. Colten St. Clair watched the Fighting Hawks go through drills, the weekly shootout, then greeted his old coaches and a few players he previously coached. Sitting a few rows above him was UND's all-time leader in goals by a defenseman — Nick Naumenko. St. Clair, an alternate captain on UND's 2016 NCAA national championship team, and Naumenko, who now coaches the Jr. Sun Devils, are just the start of an impressive list of former UND players and coaches who are expected to attend this weekend's series between UND and Arizona State. When the Fighting Hawks and Sun Devils drop the puck at 9:07 p.m. Central on Friday and 6:07 p.m. Saturday, the list will grow exponentially. It's possible that every UND head coach since 1978 will be in the building. Members of at least six of UND's eight NCAA titles will be present. 1 Quote

"He enjoyed his time there, but he's definitely got a chip on his shoulder and wants to prove his former coach and teammates wrong about leaving there. He's very excited. I've seen another level of focus from him this week. He's very, very excited." 1 Quote
hockeytherapy13 Posted January 10 Posted January 10 Looking at the team stats, ASU is even better than I had thought. They have 7 players averaging 0.75 or more points per game, 2 of whom are above pt/game and one can assume Lucius will be playing a high end game right away. From an RPI SOS standpoint they are rated 18th and we are 25th, so it’s not like they’ve feasted on cupcakes. Our boys have a tough one on their hands this weekend. Quote
AlphaMikeFoxtrot Posted January 10 Posted January 10 North Dakota -135 ASU +105 Curious to see how many UND fans are in the building. Quote

snooty89 Posted January 10 Posted January 10 What are the options for folks to stream this game. Don't have access to cable tv and am shocked that Paramount Plus wouldn't add CBSSN to make it more attractive as a streaming service. Any links to shady sites? Not really wanting to do a fubo tv subscription I guess. Frustrating. Quote

cberkas Posted January 10 Posted January 10 Sounds like ASU released more SRO tickets if people are looking for some Quote
Oxbow6 Posted January 10 Posted January 10 Agree with Berger....split. Looking forward to the series. Quote
Oxbow6 Posted January 10 Posted January 10 Got notice from ASU on traffic and parking. Busy day on campus tomorrow. WBB at 330. Hockey at 500 then MBB at 730. Quote

Feeling confident that the PK goes above 80% this weekend. This is the turnaround for the PK. Even without Zmolek, Berg is back and the freshies know what college hockey is so the PK is going up for sure. 1 Quote

I think we have to get points from every series from now on. 3 Quote
hockeytherapy13 Posted January 10 Posted January 10 Now that Swanson is acclimated to the college level and starting to heat up at the end of the half, I wouldn’t mind seeing him with Boisvert. I know for a while the James-Boisvert-Strinden line was looking good but it’s started to fizzle with Strinden having low production (great 2-way play, though) and James not really having the hands to be a great finisher or a consistently smooth passer. I doubt they’ll do it right away but if Boisvert isn’t getting enough looks they could try Swanson up there. Obviously no one can skate like James and Swanson can’t replace Strinden’s speed and physicality but keep one of them on the line and replace the other with Swanson. He is ready to not be buried with Kunz and Wilkie this weekend. Quote
