2025 UND football

Complete hypothetical but if UND beats USD this weekend, do you think there is any chance that Gameday would come here? Odds are slim but a quick look it looks like competing games would be going to Lubbock for Texas Tech vs BYU, Charlottesville for UVA vs WF, Tuscaloosa for Bama vs LSU or South Bend for Notre Dame vs Navy.

That would be great exposure for the rivalry and both programs.

Almost zero. I'd love it, but if they didn't go to Brookings, I don't see them going to GF. Though I do think UND and NDSU will be a better matchup than NDSU and SDSU was. I'm also not confident there is anyone with the college gameday space that would be willing to push for an FCS gameday. I know NDSU has had a few, but I would be surprised to see it happen, especially since it is in GF and not Fargo AND given some of the other options. 

That being said, I would LOVE to see it happen and it would certainly be great exposure. From what I can see the last FCS Gameday was #16 MT vs #3 MT ST in 2022. This would be a higher ranked interstate matchup, so who knows.

Is College Game Day only determined in the week ahead?  I don't watch that show, so I am not sure what all factors into their broadcast decisions.

Yes, only a week ahead. It’ll be BYU-Texas Tech unless one of them loses.

I'm a UND fan and will always be one and while I think Jerry is doing a great job, I cannot bring myself to even suggest Heisman.

I know Schmidt praised him and said he wouldn't trade him for any QB in the country but have any of you seen the monster truck at SU? He runs fast, he's built like a brick s#it house and he fires rockets to his receivers. I hate being impressed by Bison, but that guy is looking good.

i guess you miss the tongue in cheek......BUT run with it....get the hashtag out there....maybe jerry does the heisman pose after a TD against the ag school....make some t shirts with jerry on the front and a AI image of him holding the heisman with SEC and Big10 guys behind him on the podium in NYC...just have some fun with it.

and you never know....

Texas tech is heading to play Kansas state this week and k-state has definitely been on the upswing…a win for K-state would give a nice indirect boost to UND’s resume. Anything can happen in the Big 12…

Yeah let's start propping our QB up as a Heisman candidates before the SU game, I'm sure that wouldn't give them any extra motivation to want to completely shut him down.

No doubt, Jerry is a stud and he's a huge reason as to why the team has earned so much success so far this year, but if our fan base did that I would be incredibly emberassed, and the other fcs fanbases would rightfully rip on us... Dropping his name for the Walter Payton is even a stretch.

IF und beats the ndac and Jerry is a big part in that victory he will certainly be in the running for the Walter Payton award....

and yes he ain't winning any heisman trophy in the next three years no matter what...what I was getting at is the social media's at und need to realize the growth potential for und football is thru the roof....have some fun with it..embrace that we finally have a "face of the franchise" and that's Jerry.
