A long litany of one and dones tends to kill the golden goose for a traveling fanbase.  I know I opted for more summer vacations rather than another possible weekend where I have to alter plans after a Friday disappointment.

Had flights booked to be in the cities this weekend for the last tournament but canceled them a while ago. Didn't expect to make it this far.

Last time they made the NCAA Title Game was 2004, in Boston.   I wore a Walsh jersey(1)  and was amazed by how emotional many of their fans got by seeing a UND fan with Walsh on his jersey.  And I do mean emotional.  May try that again in St Paul if they get there.

 

(1) With beloved coach Shawn Walsh in failing health, UND visited Maine in 2001 for a non-conference series and the team wore warmup jerseys with their coaches name.  Donated the jerseys to charitable auction with a foundation benefiting college hockey coaches (incl. Walsh).
