ND-fan Posted February 17 Posted February 17 I was looking at our schedule we only have three games left we are probably locked into our 6 or 7 position but one win would probably lock in 6 place finish. A bigger factor would be if we would be able pull off upset against St. Thomas would probably change who we would play in opening round game of tournament. My guess we would end up playing Omaha a loss probably sets up against SDSU or St. Thomas. My feeling I would prefer to be on opposite of bracket of SDSU. If that would happen I think NDSU and USD would. Have greater chance of beating SDSU then we would again. Also I think we could beat Omaha we match up them best top 3 teams. Second I think KC could pull off upset of St. Thomas because they have talent to beat anyone on neutral court. Also both Denver and ORU could be difficult in opening round these young teams are much better than at beginning of the season. SDSU is probably favorite especially basically at home in front of their crowd. Quote
GoodGood Posted February 20 Posted February 20 A fun night in the Summit with UST and SDSU losing. That locks us into 6th or lower Quote

fightingsioux4life Posted February 20 Posted February 20 I honestly cannot get excited about staying out of the Summit League cellar. There is no buzz with either basketball program right now. It's very depressing. 3 Quote
HoopsFan03 Posted February 21 Posted February 21 Don’t think we have a Former Players thread so thought I’d throw it here. Pretty cool for Matt! Quote

Lose next two on road, both years have USD as final game of the year. Enter the SLT as the 6 seed and let all chaos break loose The last two games were all a part of the plan! Quote
FSSD Posted Sunday at 05:56 PM Posted Sunday at 05:56 PM Men's bracket Wednesday (8) UMKC vs (9) Oral Roberts, 7 p.m. Thursday (1) Omaha vs UMKC/ORU, 6 p.m. (2) St. Thomas vs (7) Denver, 8:30 p.m. Friday (4) NDSU vs (5) USD, 6 p.m. (3) SDSU vs (6) UND, 8:30 p.m. Saturday Semifinal (1/8 vs 4/5), 7 p.m. Semifinal (2/7 vs 3/6), 9:30 p.m. Sunday Championship, 8 p.m. This worked out pretty well for the Summit League. You will have one Dakota school reaching the finals. I hope that Omaha and St. Thomas have fans that travel. 2 Quote

ND-fan Posted Sunday at 11:09 PM Posted Sunday at 11:09 PM I wish I could was more excited about the Summit Tournament for our chances but I just feel with both basketball programs we just don’t have much of chance even winning opening round game. Our success this year has been very limited and it has occurred on home court. Then add men’s team is going to be playing rabbits on their home court away from home I just feel we’re going to be out matched for the game. The women’s game is similar we don’t play well on the road and we’re young and inexperienced and they are better coached team. This is not how I should feel but my thought process is there from watching these teams play all season. If I am missing something show me because I would like to be more optimistic. 1 Quote

iramurphy Posted Monday at 02:14 AM Posted Monday at 02:14 AM We are capable of beating any team in the Summit if we play our best. We haven’t shown we can put 2 games of our best back to back much less 3 in a row. Quote
Kab Posted Tuesday at 03:57 PM Posted Tuesday at 03:57 PM Read Matt Zimmers articles today on why any team could win the summit tourney. his reasoning that UND could is UND was able to get Alabama to come to south Canada and play and UND played good against them. he didn’t mention beating ndsu and sdsu. he also mentioned the players to watch in the ladies tourney. Didn’t mention Josie at all. To me she could be freshman of the year . I guess he doesn’t follow UND at all is he related to McFooley ? Quote
