Wasn’t Chaves let go at eastern Washington?

he must have been cheap for us to hire him

From what I understand he was on the verge of getting let go to to not staying in budget

Not an apologist, I just don’t think Chaves will do it

nothing we can do about that

Unfortunately, I think you are right. I was just asking people who think Sather should have as much time as he wants to justify that stance.

It’s just so sad that the basketball program means that little to him. If Sather had 3 heck even 2 more years on his deal, I could understand the hesitancy to buy him out but he has 1 freaking year left.

Would LOVE to hear from SD UND

Sather should be fired immediately. They should hire a timeout guru and then they won’t lose another game the rest of the season.

They should also hire a subbing coordinator and a free throw expert.
If there’s anything left in the budget they should hire a confidence advisor to make sure every player is confident.

You're right, coach Sather doesn't care about winning and is all about having fun. I'm sure he is doing nothing to try and solve the issues. Just sitting back having coffee at Northside and enjoying his time in Grand Forks.

It's too bad he didn't use more of his magical timeouts- if he would've taken one more 30 second timeout UND would have won by 10, because timeouts are magic.

This post is the give away...   SD UND is Sather.

Good recruiting covers up for a lot of things.  Bad recruiting exposes it all

You’re right. A significant part (probably majority) of collegiate athletics success (or failure) is on recruiting, and the coaches definitely are the ones who do the recruiting.

If this team loses to Denver on Saturday, Sather needs to be let go. He has shown that he can’t coach at the D1 level.

If UND loses to Denver on Saturday Sather should not be allowed back on the bus/plane, whatever they took. Get him a one way ticket back to South Dakota where he can continue to be a D2 coach and such a great guy that people forget how bad of a coach he is! He should be banned from UND's campus if they lose Saturday

Sather has put UND Men's Basketball in such a deep hole that I don't know how long it is going to take to get out of! What recruit that is a halfway decent player would want to come play for a team that wins 2 conference games a year??? Heck we might not win a single conference game this year. What recruit wants to play for that?? Sather has turned this basketball program into an absolute joke and an absolute embarrassment.
