I was pretty impressed with most every other spot. The OL really hung in there well for 3 fr. Would have been really nice to have Bryant. Bubba actually showed some balls in an FBS game. How refreshing. Our guys battled back in the 3rd, that was a thing of beauty. The angst in the stadium was palpable. Just couldn’t make the play on the stupid 3rd and long. That was the back breaker. I really think Bubba should’ve called a timeout to help the d regroup on that drive. He left them out to dry there. Overall I feel pretty positive about this team. There are undeniable holes on the roster but I think we can win some games and should be in every game. Need some youngsters to step up. was thinking the same thing........let em regroup and catch their breath...tell em..."you hold these guys on this series....we gonna win the mf'er game!!!!!!!!" The new coach would have the same resources and compensation as they have now. How are we going to recruit better players with the same resources. We have to scheme our way through games to make up for the elite talent that we can’t recruit. Like Kelly Howe says when is the last time we passed the eye test looking at the other team in warm ups. Our schemes are the only thing that is evening out our games. Bringing in a different coaching staff will have to deal with this the same. We do pretty well for a team full of “D2” talent. In that case, we should just move down to D-ll and join the NSIC. I am not interested in being an average FCS program forever. 1

DBs have zero respect for what we trot out at the position. Our wr group should look like what we had in 2013 but we’re obsessed with tall slow white boys who can’t get open. If we had legit athletes out wide Belquist would absolutely murder teams underneath, the running game would open up, and we would be a contender. How are we going to recruit better receivers? Where we going to find them and who are we going to beat out for them?

Plenty of poor offensive performances over the past couple years. He’s not immune to some criticism. 17 points yesterday was by no means an amazing performance. Plenty of work to do. I think the obvious criticism is UND needs more explosive plays. Sure, throwing deep is one way to do it, but simply having more playmakers is another way to accomplish it. issue is, everyone else in the country wants the same thing … for what UND has, they do alright. But certainly UND could use more explosive talent at not only WR but all the skill positions (including QB).

Mama Sue
Well it seems these big programs have hired companies to get NIL money. Did you check out the marketing for the Cornhusker Marketplace? The screen video promoted purchasing clothing and Cornhusker memorabilia there “where a portion of your purchase goes directly to help our student athletes.” They also requested businesses and individuals “donate” to the cause. Not sure how that works with the college bookstore and alumni organization…also competing for $$ with a school foundation. Another game I recently attended had their NIL company sponsor a tailgating tent. The company was all over in their t-shirts networking with donors… as far as I could tell…. A lot of details go into recruiting. Where you recruit, how you recruit, etc. UND’s facilities are improving and hopefully compensation will as well. There needs to be continual improvement because I agree that the current level of resources is not adequate. NIL is something folks around UND definitely need to look into sooner rather than later. There is a lot of DII talent at certain spots for UND. you can only scheme up so much; remember, it’s not the x’ s and o’s, it’s the Jimmy’s and the Joe’s …

But I can’t single-handedly fund a DI football program. Last I checked, I don’t have any oil on my property or a casino in Vegas … Need more folks to contribute. Increase popularity. Increase excitement around football and not just hockey. I’m not going to find the WR talent, the full time coaching staff needs to do that with the resources they have, which does need to improve, for sure.

We should have had a plan to fully fund a Division l athletic department before we moved up. We are using a Division ll funding model and it simply does not work anymore. Either we do this the right way or we move back down. Or we could drop FB and focus on less expensive sports like MBB and WBB. But I just cannot embrace the status quo.

I mean, UND has already won how many in the last decade? Probably way more than NDSU for sure bud. 14 points against Drake? Count NDSU out of the title conversation. Probably be lucky if they make the playoffs. Go back to bisonville buddy.. you missed the point completely. Nobody said the bison aren’t good and won’t make the playoffs and aren’t favorites to win another natty. Beating up on drake and whatever high school team you play next week sure is fun for the fan base.. even the poor FN hawks beat up on those guys.

You are insanely jealous of the greatest dynasty of all time in the FCS and you just want to make yourself try to feel better by making fun of the pre season schedule as if that somehow has anything to do with winning titles. When your fan base holds up signs saying "Bring on Bama" and writes letters to Sports Illustrated demanding NDSU be on the cover instead of Alabama, you are basically asking for those types of comments. Especially when you troll on a rival's message board in a thread that has nothing to do with your team. Go back to Bisonville.
