So with 95%+ of those in the NHL fully vaccinated daily testing of asymptomatic individuals is the hill this niche sport (to most of America) wants to die on?

I love to hear Schloss's nonsensical verbal nausea on why he thinks this is the right move.

Most players in the protocol are mildly symptomatic or asymptomatic — Sweeney said the Bruins players who have tested positive haven’t had severe reactions.

“The vast majority of the players have had some mild symptoms. Some have had zero. One player had a day where he felt a little more under the weather than he had previously with mild, so you’d call it moderate.,” Sweeney said. “The two staff members are doing O.K. They might have moderate. But everybody is doing relatively well and trending in the right direction.” (Mass Live)

My question is, does the NHL needs to take a look at the testing protocol like the NFL? Twitter has been a cesspool this week.  Now we have people calling for the government to shut down the country again, and some sports journalist calling for the NHL and NFL to pause the season, for what? This isn't going away.

Everything around the NHL is changing almost minute-by-minute, and there very well could be more teams going on pause, let alone the entire league. It feels like a rush to the holiday break to give teams three days off to recover and for players in COVID protocol to get over the hump. (Seattle Times

The Calgary Flames finally received some good news Saturday, reporting no players or support staff testing positive for COVID-19 following Friday’s results.

It comes after nearly a week of new cases on a daily basis, the biggest outbreak of the National Hockey League.

In total, 19 of their players are dealing with the virus, including three with confirmed cases of the new Omicron variant. Three coaches — head coach Darryl Sutter, associate coach Kirk Muller and assistant coach Ryan Huska — also tested positive this past week, along with nine members of the support staff and one member of the training staff. The total is up to 32 cases.

The expectation from the team’s head physician, Dr. Ian Auld, is that in the coming days, they will discover more cases of the Omicron variant among the Flames’ positive tests. Luckily, the team’s reported cases have been asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic.

Tyler Bertuzzi, who emerged Monday from a 10-day quarantine, said he stayed active by walking his dog to the park and is expected to be in the lineup Tuesday when the Red Wings host the New York Islanders. Bertuzzi, the NHL’s only unvaccinated player, has missed eight games — five during this stretch and three because of Canadian border restrictions — and six more games in Canada are on the Red Wings’ schedule.

Schlosh is a great writer when it comes to hockey and we are lucky to have him. Although his mask loving get your shot mindset as well obsession with WH and its former players and recruits is something I would rather not hear from him.

The NHLPA needs to talk to the NFLPA and figure out how the NFL got testing of asymptomatic stopped.

So that’s a bad thing?:whistling:

Not sure why anyone would want to remotely think about signing Evander Kane and his toxicity, looking at you Edmonton and Vancouver.

Humor, true karma, would be to find out Evander Kane and DeShawn Watson have the same agent (Pariah Sports Management?).

Not sure even Mike Rowe would want that job.

Now he’s under investigation again for lying about having a negative covid test

That was a reason the Sharks terminated his contract.
