Despite my track record of predictions on here, most would rather blindly dispute all forms of criticism. To each their own I guess. I appreciate contribution most of the time. I just don't care for the harshness at times. The only point I was trying to make was we need a QB every year to develop in the program. This year could be different with a new scheme. Based on the interview with Danny the offense will be based on the QB talents. I hope the talent and scheme mesh well.

I have watched the Zavalney kid play football and basketball and he is very similar to Heidelbahl, however, I would say he has more potential as a WR. Zavalney was also a high school QB, so it is nice to see the staff make him a WR right away and not try to make him a "project" qb. Wouldn't be surprised if he moves over to Defense though. In the signing say special they said he had 14 picks in his Junior and Senior year......even though its small town football thats an impressive stat. UNDvince97-01
Contrary to expert opinion here.... We need a HS QB in this class. Also, they are very high on Grover. He, Boltmann and Kett will be the 3 battling for the job in spring ball and into fall camp.

Deapth is important and I want more than the minimum..... but I have been called greedy or pushy... read over some other college press releases ( why are Gophers and Bison given top billing over the Sioux in the Herald).... seems like most are 20 to 25 leaving a few spots for Feb. signing... zero from Mary...WI and Iowa seem to recruit aggressively too.... I just love college football...bucket list... be in the Georgia Stadium for a home game!

The Sicatoka
To me a signing class should look like a 22 man starting roster. You grab specialists (K, P, LS) when you need them or when they fit. That's not to say that can't "float" the 22 package year to year, meaning this year might be a base 3-4 defense and a 21 group offense, and next year is a nickel defense and an 11 offense; and the next year is a goal line defense (44 heavy) and a 13 package. Heck, one year may be a dime defense and a heavy, goal line offense. But in those year-to-years the fundamentals, the minimums, stay: 5 OL, a QB, 3 DL, 3 LB, a safety. What else is needed, or if it's a strong class for < fill in position here > dictates the rest.

The Sicatoka
All that said, let's look at Bubba's 23 for '19. 6 OL, 3 WR, 1 TE, 2 RB -- to me the need is there: a QB. Otherwise it's a 21 package. 3 DL, 4 LB, 4 DB -- looks like a base 34. The question become the mix of DL (a nose) and DB (S v CB).
The Sicatoka
On offense the "21 group" means 2 RB, 1 TE, 2 WR on the field. An 11 group is 1 RB, 1 TE, 3 WR. The WRs brag they are so smart, s-m-r-t, because they don't have to be told their number; they can do math. I'm guessing you know 34 or 43 defensive fronts and nickel (5 DB) or dime (6 DB) sets. Nodak78
Any interest in this QB. He is still available since he Decommitted his AF offer. Popular Post UNDBIZ
Great to see ZERO write-ups on UND football on the homepage of the gf herald website. Of course there was one on moo u's transfer from ISU though.

All I know is West Point... but I was told all military academies are the same... before admission is offered all requirements must be met including medical (ask me about the dental x-rays that showed wisdom teeth... we had to go to a federally approved oral surgeon to have them removed and x-rays before and after were sent to West Point).... more likely he realized the strict environment and academic standards and didn’t want to commit... think 4 years of basic training with a curriculum of civil engineering.... with all students in the class 4.0! Football players are not given special privileges either! Too bad he is not coming to UND GO SIOUX

If referring to me, I simply said the focus should be either HS or drop down depending on who is more talented. Why not take the best player? QB position desperately needs a boost. Also, Zimmerman has no shot? Favorites are Ketteringham and Boltmann. Zimmerman will be in the mix but I’m afraid Grover’s ceiling is 2nd string. Very high on Grover? Just like Heidlebaugh and Bolinske?

We need a HS recruit with the potential to start down the road in this class. 1 in the last 4 classes (5 if they punt again this year) is bad for the future of this team. Coaching staff needs to get it done.
