It seems to me like all of these things seem like they should be a given for any program wishing to be top tier. I would hope that every year staffs are in touch with FBS schools, or at least are monitoring best practices of those programs that are very successful. At the least we should be trying to mimic everything NDSU and SDSU are doing year in and year out. Tells you how far behind we were with the previous leadership 2 Quote

I did consider and players are also accountable to do what’s necessary to improve. I don’t believe a guy who puts in the work all through HS and played well whenever he got on the field wasn’t willing to work but I wouldn’t know cuz I’m not there. Getting guys to put in the work is part of coaching. Quote

He also has first hand knowledge of how things were run at UND. Safe bet he's picked up a few things that will pay big dividends and I would expect some visible changes on how things are handled with current players and recruits. https://footballscoop.com/news/arizona-states-historic-turnaround-started-at-the-ping-pong-table-kenny-dillingham-says Dillingham using a ping pong table, could be a good idea Quote

It's been stated a number of times on this board that we don't want a HC that isn't looking to move up in a few years. That isn't a bad plan but there are a lot of coaches who have been successful in their 'dream jobs' too. 1 Quote

Some here frankly need to lighten up. Goodness. Please for the sake of others don't show up at Christmas parties. Better days for UND FB are on the horizon....hopefully. I loved your guys shtick, it was funny watching others react. They didn't get it which made it even better. Looking forward to more coaching changes in the futre. 1 Quote

F'n Hawks Posted Monday at 04:52 PM Author Posted Monday at 04:52 PM Schmidt’s ability to recruit and lead a team will be his biggest strengths. He is a defensive guy, but won’t be calling the defense more than likely. Obviously he will be very involved on that side of the ball but he’ll be bringing in a new scheme and hopefully a good connection that he has made recently to be the DC. 4 Quote
