Didn't see another thread on this...

The Star Tribune's hockey website is a must read for info on next week's state tourney. http://m.mnhockeyhub.com

Stillwater advances to state from 4AA. Great goal to send your team to the X!

Was listening to this some last night and it was a real good game with a great atmosphere as Aldrich Arena was sold out. The goal was a real nice play the Hill defenseman could have played it a lot better but great play by the Stillwater kid to send his team to state. The Stillwater win also made it so there will be no private schools in the AA state tournament this year.

Afternoon session wasn't real competitive at all. Breck beat Mankato West 8-0 and it wasn't even that close and Thief River Falls beat Princeton 6-1. Tonight Hermantown and Litchfield could be ugly and I think it would be a win for Litchfield to just keep this game out of running time. The nightcap between St. Paul Academy and St. Cloud Cathedral should be a pretty good game though.

St Paul Academy and St Cloud Cathedral was a good game.

The Channel 45 feed is being picked up and all these games are available on Midco Sports 3, channel 323 where I live, for anyone who wants to watch.

Stillwater just took care of business with Farmington.  Burnsville and Wayzata intros on now.  Love the flow, never disappoints.

Is he coming for the 17/18 season?

I'd imagine so. Probably not ready for college. Not an elite player, just sound all around. I really liked his game.

I caught some comments from Lou Nanne about "he's a sound two way player" and "he's going to North Dakota and they like that kind of player".    High praise from one of the Gopher faithful.

30 years ago, it was the opposite.  "Player A takes a roughing penalty.   Good thing he's going to North Dakota where they love guys who like to fight."  Etc etc., it was often negative and never positive.

Interesting that the opinions about UND hockey have changed so much over the last 35 years.

Lou Nanne has actually grown on me a bit over the past few years. Never liked him in the past, especially after he tried convincing Parise to switch to MN. But he is pretty good to listen to on KFAN, especially when they get him and Esposito on there, swapping old time hockey scores.

Eden Prairie and Anoka tied at 1 after 1. First time seeing Minnesota commit Casey Mittelstadt since last years tournament and he was very good then but has been even better so far very impressed with him.

phenomenal player, probably a top 10 or 15 pick in '17. Every time I watch him in shocked how much better he is then everyone else.

Grand Rapids wins it 3-2 in OT on a great setup by Sioux commit Mattson. Great game between these 2 teams easily the best of the tournament so far. Would have liked to see them meet later in the tournament rather than the quarterfinals. Hopefully Grand Rapids can win a couple more and bring the AA title back to the north.

Breck beats Thief River Falls 4-0. Prowlers really couldn't generate many chances at all against Breck. Hermantown up 6-1 on St. Paul Academy in the 3rd. Should be a good class A championship game between Breck and Hermantown or at least I hope so since only 1 of the class A games so far has been a good game.
