tnt
They were down by 25 late in the game until UW lost interest. It was not a 14 point game. Going into the season I thought perhaps UND's talent may be too much for NDSU to overcome when they play, but I'm not too worried after watching tonight. I would give UND 10 points for the home court, but Richman vs Jones in coaching may be worth 20 for NDSU, so I see about a 10 point NDSU win.Yeah, and Illinois took the Bison lightly to begin with and then took over when they realized they could lose the game. If they start out hard, they blow the bison out.
Irish
Jones' tenure has the makings of a Mussman like craphole that we will have to dig ourselves out of. Everyone that watches sees the same thing except the AD. Why is UND struggling at everything but hockey?- because we don't have the collective will to demand winners. 5

Well, Faison did hire Bubba (albeit two years too late) and we are on the rise in FB as a result. But you are right, this situation looks almost the same as the FB program did two years ago. 1
geaux_sioux
Mussman > JonesGeno Seals and Hooker have nice talent though. Perhaps they can win despite their coach. Tough to win when you can't shoot free throws or grab boards. Neither takes talent.
sioux2013
First time to watch this team and Crandall is the best player on this team and if he wasn't in foul trouble would have scored 25-30 points. Beirstein was impressive as well and I thought Shanks showed much improvement with some good post moves over last year. Seals is also going to be a very solid player as well. Hooker needs to stop taking horrible driving shots that are not there hoping to get bailed out by the officials. Even the commentator claims he was out of control on some. This team will be a surprise team in the conference this year as they were not intimidated by Wisconsin at all.

Need to clean up the turnovers and start making the free throws though.
jdub27
The team played like they were young and still feeling everything out. Wisconsin is a bad match-up for almost anyone and definitely didn't help matters. They don't turnover the ball and give you extra possessions (only 6 last night vs. 17 for UND). UND did get Wisconsin to shoot at a percentage where they could stay in the game, but the second chance points along with missing free throws at the beginning killed them. I'm not sure what was more frustrating, the offensive rebounds given up where no one was in position or the 4-5 that Wisconsin took from right over the top of a UND player who actually was in position. They able to take advantage of UND's lack of depth/height down low in a way most teams won't be able to. Couple of the younger guys looked lost out there, the Kohl Center is a tough game for a first D-1 game.Q didn't have a great game, still not sold on him playing off the ball, but maybe it was just an off night for him. Geno showed some flashes of what he can do but really needs to clean up on the D end, especially the dumb hand checking fouls he got that sent him to the bench. Surprised Cashman didn't see more minutes and UND played Drick at the 5 as much as they did (which obviously didn't help rebounding at all). Was nice to see UND go 9-11 from the line after starting 0-6The hand checking fouls are going to be a huge adjustment that all teams are going to have to get used to. Sounds like they are going to enforce it full tilt this year unlike two years ago when they gave up about halfway through the season on calling it. sioux24/7
I just wish Shanks wouldn't short arm everything. He's 7' he shouldn't be shooting into a defender. And he should go up for boards not wait for them to get to his chest. Edited November 18, 2015 by sioux24/
hoops44
Drick best rebounder on team. Shanks for some reason does not block out very well, he should be a better area rebounder than he has shown. Geno's foul trouble forced him to lighten up on D. Couple calls were cheap do not see Geno getting into major foul trouble very often. When ESPN updates stats Geno will lead the nation in 3pt FG%. Geno was solid from 3 in high school but dribble drive was his forte....Hopefully he will be solid from 3 in college. Next 3 games vs mid majors will be a good barometer for UND
dakotadan
This is a pay day game for UND not a barometer for the season... Does anyone know what we actually got paid to go play in the Kohl Center? $500 and a 3 pack of Nike socks?
