jdub27
I meant head coaches smart guy. It was Hakstol and now it's Jones. I would say his seat is extremely hot. Yeah so did I. Tom Wynn is the head coach for men's and women's tennis (obviously the men's team for only a few years) and Dick Clay is the head coach for men's and women's cross country.. Better.

Better.I think they knew what you meant to begin with, but just couldn't resist the temptation to be a smart-mouth about it.I think Jones is basically working to earn another contract extension. Otherwise, it's good-bye Grand Forks for him.

Better.Or maybe just be accurate when making blanket statements. Just because you don't watch or pay attention doesn't mean they aren't part of the athletic department.

darell1976
who would people want if jones gets fired?Someone who will put UND basketball on the map, or at least in ND. NDSU is "the" talk about men's basketball after beating teams in March Madness while UND is the talk at the Jones' house. UND needs quality wins, a conference title and an appearance in March Madness instead of dating the CIT.

UNDvince97-01
If you have the hockey and basketball games at the same time, then all of the hockey fans who normally also attend basketball games too, wont go that night. I'm just having trouble understanding strictly from an attendance standpoint, how much affect not having the hockey fans available would have for a mens bball game. Under that assumption, you'd think the 3,000 seat Betty would be sold out every night there is a game when the hockey team is out of town or not playing. UND-FB-FAN
Hopefully they can exceed all expectations and get into the top half of the league...like they have done in 4 of the last 5 seasons including 2nd and 3rd place 2 of last 3 seasons under the tutelage coach Jones..... Not a make or break season for Jones....Next season will be if they are a cellar dweller.this year... Getting to the topic of this thread... UND should cruise vs a nondescript D3 teamIt's attitudes such as this that have relegated UND men's basketball to a status of nothing; of course, the attitudes I'm referring to are those of the athletic department. UND men's basketball had a horrid season last season, and throughout Jones' years as UND MBB head coach, they have zero major wins. As far as I'm concerned, unless Jones proves something, expect nothing but crickets. I love college basketball and the University of North Dakota, but it's really hard for me to support Jones' below-average resume and his underachieving teams.
