A few more months, then goodbye Gibby......Odorizzi probably too.  Both are going to get overpaid to pitch poorly next year

It is going to be interesting to see what the Twins do here:  There could have 4 spots open (if they do not pick up Perez's option) in this rotation.

I predict a trade, Smeltzer/Thorpe 5th spot battle, Perez gets bounced and 2 of the Pineda/Odo/Gibby get signed... but on shorter term deals.  I just don't see any outside FA coming in unless they want to throw a lot of cash at Cole (HOU) and Mad Bum and see if it works.

Oh and Berrios gets his $$$

If it was my pick I'd sign Big Mike, and Ode after Berrios gets his pay day.

The club has a 500,000 buyout on Perez's last year.  It's that or pay him 7.5 million, which goes up to 8.5 if he pitches 170 plus innings.

I'd like to see the club decide on Thorpe or Smelter as a starter and make one into a lefty specialist reliever.

Rocco leaves Berrios in one guy too long and he hangs one that isn't coming back.

They can't lose home games to Detroit.....yikes.

He hasn't figured it out all year. Its like he waits until a pitcher is in trouble before getting somebody ready in the bullpen instead of anticipating a trouble spot. I mean it is the 6th inning and it isn't like Berrios had been dominant you'd think you'd start to get someone ready after the leadoff hit. Instead he waits a couple more hitters before getting a guy loose.

Absolutely can't afford losses in games like these. Offensive effort has been pretty putrid as well with 11 strikeouts in 6 innings.

I was yelling at the TV to pull him after the walk.....it never helps though....

It's the end of the road for Harper.  Lasted longer than Morin, Parker, Magill, Hildenberger, but it's time to put the old dog down.

Bring up Littell, and put Alcala or Graterol on notice that the time is coming.

I've got no answer for Berrios.....absolutely lost on the mound now.

He has been huge. The only really great year I remember is Molitor a year before retiring, had a huge year for very little moolah.

Molitor was with the Twins for three seasons.

Hit .340 his first season in Minnesota. Not bad for a very old guy.

The players Unis are god awful, they need to be burned.

I don't understand why they don't let the players come up with something for their teams.  This is an epic fail by MLB.

At least Rocco went to the bullpen before the starter lost the game tonight.

Nice comeback in this one, need to finish the job.

Another night of giving up quite a few runs to bad teams though.

29 hits given up in two games vs. Detroit.

Garver just needs to be in the lineup.  Castro just doesn't have the approach at the plate and isn't good enough of a receiver to make up for his lack of hitting.

2-0 so far today.  9 more outs and Cleveland loses.

Perez had a good day pitching, yes it was against Detroit, however it was the 3rd start where had been solid.

All signs appear to point towards Buxton coming back on Tuesday, which is ahead of schedule.

Goal for the road trip:  Try to go 7-3 and have a healthy lead before the showdown against Cleveland.  I think the Tigers might take 1 or two games from them (Cleveland isn't going to go 18-1 against them this year, Detroit is due)

Cleveland scores 4 in the 9th to send it to extras.  Twins in command.

I'm not sure if that Cleveland loss was a big emotional downer for them because of how they fought back, only to lose, or if it's a rally cry type game that they can build on.

Hopefully the former.....

The game isn't over, but this is the formula for Twins post season success if there is a postseason.

Starter goes 5, offense scratches a few off good pitcher.....then Dyson, May, Duffy, Romo, Rodgers, in any particular order.
