Fly Away after a touchdown? I think they were playing Song 2 by Blur after touchdowns on Saturday and maybe in the past too?

It’s been Song 2 for a couple of years now. I remember they had tried Chelsea Dagger before that for TD’s.

Fly Away would also be good.

I was going to suggest that those with Twitter followings on here try to get the word out.

But Chaves hasn’t used Twitter since 2020 and Martinson in about a year…

Just because they haven’t posted on twitter doesn’t mean they’re not looking.

Not gonna lie, this has potential based on the fact the lyrics including “Free Bird” make a ton of sense with a video and tunnel walk featuring the fighting hawk in some fashion….

but let’s see how unique and innovative and novel the UND folks get with this …. I’m going to hold my applause til I see it …

Another possibility is Welcome to the Jungle with the locker room doors flying open with Schmidt leading them out at 0:32 of the song  …

But anyways, let’s see what transpires

Internet search for videos of Hawks circling, or use AI to figure something out.

Erik Martinson got back to me on game day experience.

he said he thought the game day experience is great ?

they are working on the team entrance but have to balance team focus on the game and production elements of the entrance.  Not sure what BS that is

the sound was the fault of the Alerus.

This is BS.  Think about the production elements at P4 schools, especially the SEC.  Even look at a school like NDSU.  This is just an excuse to cover up the lack of creativity and good production of the pregame intro, etc.

Martinson always has a rationale for not doing something. Although it is possible the Alerus Center is not being cooperative with UND on this. In that case, it's partly on them as well.

One thing the Alerus Center can do right now is fix the freaking audio.

I sent back to him that a good marketing program along with good game day production there is no reason that the Alerus isn’t full every game

You also need a good product on the field to do that. Which Schmidt and company are working on 24/7.

Yeah, game day production and entrance video simply needs to improve. Stop with excuses and get it done.

Coach Schmidt and his squad are doing their part … time for UND athletics and the Alerus Center to start doing their part…

Reading this is sounds like maybe Schmidt doesn't want the distraction of encroaching on the teams prep until they run onto the field. At least that is what I get out of 'balance team focus on the game and production elements of the entrance'.  He's more worried about how his team is getting mentally ready vs. the pregame experience for fans. He wouldn't be the first coach to think that way.

Those production elements and entrances really distract and hurt the ag school, don’t they?

Anyways, I do agree there is a balance, but don’t overthink it; UND and Alerus Center need to do more..

Just saying it sounds like a decision by Schmidt.

like the boxes on the ground level...where i was sitting couldn't see if there was a fourth one where the visiting team comes out?

but i loved the "hop" into those stands by Hromadka

it needs a name like the lambeau leap....name it after the building or the guy...

ideas?

Hromadka Hop?

Alerus Leap

Hawk Hop

Ha! The tight end, 84 I think, hopped into my arms. Thought he might bring the whole thing down but thankfully they built it sturdy enough. Those guys are a lot bigger up close
