Cratter Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Give UND credit they kept fighting down by 20 with 6 minutes left in the game. Quote
UNDBIZ Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 29-18 MSU ball with just over 5 minutes left. Quote
UNDBIZ Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 UND ball. 80 yards to go with 3 minutes left. Then onside kick. Then a FG. Quote
Wildfan Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Garman has had a nice game, even running the ball. Quote

Wildfan Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Showed promise, not enough. That team did put up 50 pts on EWU. If offense can drive, even without scoring every time it would help the defense to not start around midfield. Quote
Cratter Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 "Closer" game than most expected. So I guess that's a positive. Quote
UNDBIZ Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Pleasantly surprised with the defense. Special teams was rough. Offense was pretty bad for the most part, but showed brief glimpses of potential. Quote
homer Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 "Closer" game than most expected. So I guess that's a positive. Don't think anyone sees this as a positive. Offense struggled in the first half, defense have up some big lays and special teams had a six yard punt and blocked fg. Quote

UND92,96 Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 It's going to take time, but we will get there. As anybody who saw last year's debacle can attest, this is significant progress for one year. 1 Quote
UNDBIZ Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 I think the wind actually hurt us more than them. Their kicker and punter were able to play the wind. Our freshman struggled with it. Killed us in the field position battle. Wind didn't seem to have much affect on either offense, other than our shotgun snap issues. So there again the wind hurt us more. Quote

Sioux04 Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 What is wrong with you guys? We got absolutely destroyed the last two years. I'm not for "moral victories", but I give Bubba a couple of years and we are a force to reckon with. Our defense already is. Offense needs to catch up, but I think they made positive strides today. 1 Quote

UND-FB-FAN Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 It's going to take time, but we will get there. As anybody who saw last year's debacle can attest, this is significant progress for one year. The defense is top-notch. Montana State is a top 10 FCS offense. With the defense playing the way it is, UND will win at least a couple more games this year. Offense showed improvement in the second half. They looked alright and balanced when Norberg was running the ball okay. They'll actually improve as the season goes on. With the way this young team looked today, good things are ahead. Everyone needs to show up and cheer the defense on against Montana next Saturday. UND can win that game at home in the Alerus. Quote
UNDBIZ Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Take away the defense scoring and we scored a whopping 12 points. Is 12 going to win in the BSC? Nope! Did anyone praise our offense? Sorry Bubba was only able to revamp half the team in 9 months. Quote

Absolutely! Given how Montana State ran away with the last two games vs. UND, everyone should be very pleased. Bubba has already turned around the defense and the rest of the team is not far behind. Good things lie ahead. Quote
