iluvdebbies Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 Five WCHA teams...... and a potential semi-final matchup with the Gophers at the Frozen Four in this weeks bracket.click here. Quote
AZSIOUX Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 5 in if season ended today with a couple on that outside bubble. Solid for the WCHA but lots if hockey yet to be played Quote
AZSIOUX Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 Just curious but has BC ever had to come out "west" as they call it for a regional? Ill look later but just curious. I know they are top seed lately so I get if they haven't but man it seems like the same boring places get regionals over and over. Will we get a few back at The Ralph since we dropped the name ?? I think Brad did some research about this for an article earlier this season. If I recall, BC has only been sent out west twice in the past decade or something like that, and each time they did have to travel, they got spanked. Every time they've made it to the Frozen Four, they've gone through Worcester. I'll look bad at his archives to see if I can find the specific article, as I'm probably botching those statistics. GFG Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 "I’d just like Dartmouth in Manchester for more attendance." This made me LOL when I read it. The regional is being hosted by NH and BC is also there. Plus, Dartmouth doesn't have any fans anyways. Quote

On a related note, UMTC hasn't fared very well in regionals away from the Twin Cities. The last time they made it to the Frozen Four by playing in a regional away from home was 11 years ago. Quote

keikla Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 Ok, I'm pretty sure that the statistics about BC are in the article linked in this post of Brad's: http://undhockey.areavoices.com/?p=87874 I'm not a Herald subscriber, so I can't see that actual article anymore. But, if anyone wants to sign in and post some of those BC stats, that'd be awesome. Quote
siouxweet Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 some WCHA team is going to get paired up as a two seed in quinnipiac's regional and whoever that is will have a cakewalk to pittsburgh. kind of like duluth did in 2011 getting paired up with the then number one overall seed in yale. Quote
GFG Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 Is it wrong to hope my team falls to a 2 seed and gets sent to QU's bracket? I'd love to stomp them and troll their angry fan on twitter Quote

watchmaker49 Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Oh yeah..hell sioux fans would fill the X on our own. Can we borrow that for a weekend regional? Funny thing is UND would put more fans in the seats than any of the other teams combined at any other regional. Quote
siouxweet Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 I don't like the prospect of having to play new hampshire in manchester again or miami in toledo. Quote

GFG Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Quinnipiac has fans? That's why I left the 's' off after fan. Pretty sure they only have one Quote

MafiaMan Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Actually BC scored first. EDIT: BC 1-0, CC scored 4 in a row to make it 4-1, then when BC scored a goal to make it 4-2, CC reeled off another 3 to go ahead 7-2. Their biggest lead of the game was 5 goals. Quote
Dustin Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Oh yeah..hell sioux fans would fill the X on our own. Can we borrow that for a weekend regional? I call BS on this one. UND played Minnesota at the Xcel in last year's regional, and attendance was only 10,974. Quote
MafiaMan Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 I call BS on this one. UND played Minnesota at the Xcel in last year's regional, and attendance was only 10,974. Plenty of good seats still available for the Gopher/Sioux game last year...the SCSU vs WIsconsin regional a couple of years earlier brought in less than half of that! Quote
jodcon Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 I hope we play the 2nd game on 4/11 so we can have a big food and brewfest at my nephews in ND. That's my bracketology wish. Quote
