Wilbur Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Crap.....Panzarella gone......just what the Sioux needed. Guess that means that Gleason goes back to play defense. Quote
Let'sGoHawks! Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Crap.....Panzarella gone......just what the Sioux needed. Guess that means that Gleason goes back to play defense. Yep, and we roll 3 forward lines, crazy stuff. I love how everyone has stepped up tonight and contributed. Stephan Pattyn, the general, with 2 assists. Gotta get through the remaining 4 minutes of Haavaad PP. Quote

SteveP Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Ok, just got home and got the computer to work...what happened to Panzerella? I am not watching live, but on Twittter it was reported he was ejected for contact to the head. Quote
wsdSIOUXfalls Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 3 1/2 minutes left in the last Fighting Sioux Hockey game! Nelson scores! Sioux 7 - Harvard 3 Quote

brianvf Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Great effort tonight with a depleted lineup! Let's hope we get some players back for Clarkson. Quote
Sodbuster Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 On TV, Sweeney kept saying how it was the final game as the Fighting Sioux........not for the majority of us. Quote
UND Alum Fan Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 The name may change but they will be the Fighting Sioux Forever!!!!! Happy New Year to all! Quote
tnt Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Did anyone hear the extent of Rodwell's injury? Crazy that as Schlossman said that half of the Sioux forward lines are walk-ons or defensemen. When you consider one of the other two forward lines is made up of all freshmen, and you would think that the other teams would be able to exploit that inexperience more. The Sioux have really hung in there with a depleted lineup. Hopefully, the Sioux can get many of the players back in the next few weeks and come together for a strong finish, as it appears it will be necessary to be a top 3 or 4 team in the WCHA. Quote
Oxbow6 Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Very fitting on a night where it was the last official hockey game as the "Fighting Sioux", an extremely undermanned Sioux squad played with the determination, desire, grit and work ethic that has been seen on it's home ice for decades. Nothing says "old time Fighting Sioux hockey" than what was displayed last pm. That was a great win to end the "Fighting Sioux" era and ring in 2012. Both my girls have pink T-shirts that read "Forever Sioux" across the front. After visiting with my oldest daughter, 11, on our way home to Fargo after the game last night about losing the Sioux nickname and logo as of 12 am, she decided that wearing that T-shirt to bed last night was a great way to ring in 2012...BTW she is still sleeping! Go Sioux! Forever Sioux! 4 Quote

Teeder11 Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 that Gaarder 13 is fast becoming one of our best players I thought the same thing after watching him in person Friday and Saturday. Very impressive player with a lot of upside potential. Reminds me of Trupp. Quote
