JohnboyND7
Real classy troll, real classy. And people wonder why Fargo is resented by people in other parts of the state. I'm not a Fargoan. I just happen to live here at the moment. You take offense to me using an alternative name to the city I was born in?
The Sicatoka
I'm not a Fargoan. Just a Fargoner. And your name for the City of Grand Forks may well be interpreted by some as carrying some sort of cultural insensitivity or cultural bias. May you not only meet them, but have to sit through their 8-hour "Diversity and You" seminar to be re-educated. Closing thought: What if everyone here "accidentally" misspelled the name of the city home to NDSU by reversing the 'r' and the 'g'? We'd get rightly lit up. Rationalizing it as an "alternative name" wouldn't make it any better much less right. So, quite simply John, it's cute, accepted behavior at Bisonville; here, grow up. So a native of the Forks should not refer to it as a different name? Call Fargo what you want.
darell1976
.... So a native of the Forks should not refer to it as a different name? Call Fargo what you want. Why Spanish? I would think the way the dolts on BV hate Canadian athletes (except the ones on the Bison teams) you would say Grand Forks in French. Or did that thought go over your head. jdub27
You take offense to me using an alternative name to the city I was born in? Considering you spend a decent amount of time belittling both Grand Forks and the GF Air Force base both here and on the FU message board, I don't think most people are willing to allow you that luxury.

Are you this protective of all towns with nicknames? Do you get upset when people refer to Valley City as a very unflattering name we've all heard? Do you get irritated when people call Fargo names? El Forko Grande just expresses the multicultural experience of the northern valley. You guys really drifted from the purpose of the thread. Well here we call it Grand Forks, you calling it by any other name makes you look like an idiot. What's next you going to refer UND on this board as UN_, or as the idiots on BV type it _ND. (even their own joke they can't get it right)

No but I'd still think you were kind of an idiot for going to their message boards and trying to play off an insult as something less. CMSioux
Warriors would be great because it also loosly connects with the Norwegian Viking - however those who will be making the decision and those who will be influencing those who are making the decision will never allow Warrior because they will say it is too close to reference to the Fighting Sioux as Warriors - sucks but that the way it will roll.
