jloos
I think this deserves its own thread. I watched the game on FSSN and saw the hit perfectly clear. Luckily I was recording it and was able to view it several times. Being they recorded it live I cannot figure out how they claim they missed it and did not have the replay The WCHA needs to review this and suspend Marvin. That hit was complete bush league. There is no possible explanation from Marvin. His head was up. He saw the puck was gone. He saw Genoway was facing the boards. If the WCHA somehow fails to act and Marvin steps foot on the ice tomorrow we should see our first fight of the year tomorrow. Hopefully Genoway makes a quick and complete recovery. Greggiepoopoo was in attendence tonight. He got to see Don "Injure 'em if you don't like 'em" Adam officiate. Folks, from what I could tell, the reason why Hepp was called erroneously was because whoever was opposite Don Adam made the call, despite Don Adam being the official that was closest to the play and in better position. I could be wrong. jloos will hopefully correct me if I am. Marvin should be suspended for at least the duration of this series, if not the next. I wish Genoway the speediest of recoveries. I would not be surprised at all if the injury is a concussion. And NO, I have no inside information. This is PURE speculation on my part. Seriously...we recruited Marvin? Really? Surprised he chose SCSU over us. He should have gone to...say...MSUM or MTU or maybe DU.

I watched the same feed, without the DVR, and sadly missed the play. If your description is correct, Marvin may deserve an additional game with an 'intent to injure' add-on. Seems unlikely at this point that Genoway will start tomorrow...he's a rough and tumble senior, but I also know we'll need him at his best next weekend. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see him playing tomorrow night. If Marvin skates, he'd best keep his head on a swivel. Best of outcomes to Mr. Genoway, swift and speedy return to the ice! The Whistler
Hennesey said he's out Saturday night. Did he also say that Chay took a crosscheck to the back of the head. Adam was the one down there and saw the whole thing from 30 feet away. He wasn't making the call. Proof positive was when they called it on the wrong guy. Now that I think about it, when 18 was skating off the ice he was pleading something. I guess he had a point. There's no excuse to have Don Adam in the game. And the three blind mice needed quite a conference to make the call, and they STILL got the number wrong. Think someone had the replay and sent the right number down between periods? Adam is as bad a ref as ever laced 'em up.

The Whistler
The problem is if Shepptard starts holding WCHA officials to some low level of competence how does he hold on to his own job?

The Whistler
Fixed your post! Thanks I have a bad habit of making a great point and not recognizing that my contribution would be stronger if I stopped there. Reminds me of a time back when I was a lad........................... From what I have heard, Poppa Shep was the one who made the call originally from the press box which could account for the wrong number thing...and then he reviewed it and got it right? tho0505
Again I am amazed that they didn't have a replay, I clearly saw the hit and saw it coming for the several steps Marvin took before hitting Genoway. Bush league to say the least. I thought it was Testiwuide from DU or Bruess from MSUM for a second. Tomorrow night we'll FINALLY see a rough game no doubt about that. Chewey
Isn't this Lurch from the Adams Family? It's truly remarkable how well preserved that man is. http://www.stcloudstate.edu/athletics/spor...nMarvin_000.jpg
JLP157
The entire game video is up on demand at fightingsioux.com. Fast forward to the 1 hour, 29 minute mark of the video and it's there. Pretty brutal... Also....It didn't look like Hextall did much to deserve a double minor...
Goon
fkn cheap shot That it was I just watched the play for the 5th time and Genoway took the puck up ice in an end to end rush and Genoway had the puck checked off his stick #3 Sam Zabkowicz and Marvin came in and pounded Chay's head into the boards with a high elbow to the back of Genoway's head. This was a dirty blatant inexcusable hit.
Vegas_Sioux
How that wasn't called instantly is bothers me. As both a player and a ref.
Big A HG
To all those saying we would have seen a fight with Marvin, or will see fighting anyways....guess again. The players know better than to take themselves out of a Friday night game against Denver, especially with Genoway already potentially out. I'm sure we'll see a bunch of big hits, some jawing, and a few facewashes, but I doubt anyone would try and drop the gloves.

As much as you want to go after Marvin, I'm sure Hak will have it instilled in them not to do it. If someone does go, I pretty much guarentee it will be someone who is expendable, and we don't NEED against DU.

Just Curious
This sounds horrible, but I don't want to have to rewatch the whole game, does anyone have a clip of the hit. I missed it in real-time and the online broadcast never replayed it (well maybe during post-game, but I did not watch that). I appreciate it. Thanks. Pretty brutal... Also....It didn't look like Hextall did much to deserve a double minor... Officials need to take control of the game and immediately skate these players to the tunnel before their five minute center ice conversations. An immediate escort to the locker room enforces a zero tolerance policy on cheap shots. I know there are some borderline calls that need discussion, but this one was as black and white as it comes. Of course, one of the four in black and white would have to be able to quickly identify the guilty party in order to skate them to the tunnel. Oxbow6
Having had that hit happen right in front of us and seeing Genoway trying to come to his senses, my initial reaction was he probably has a concussion?? Could be wrong. Wouldn't be suprised to see Davidson in the line-up tonight to maybe set a physical tone and settle up on last night's antics.
