Didn't see it mentioned, so I will. Stafford notched another goal in their game 1 win last night. It is nice to see him getting more playing time, as it didn't seem he was on the ice much early in the NYI series. I predict ZPar has a goal tonight in a Devils win, assisted by Zajac of course. :D

EDIT: nevermind, it was on the playoff thread, which I read after posting this... I'll save someone the trouble of scolding me for posting it twice or putting it in the incorrect thread... bad me!

Looks like I will be able to watch a former Sioux player as coach this year. That is if the Ice Pilots remain in Pensacola.

Ice Pilots hire Marks to be new coach

The Pensacola Ice Pilots' management said they wanted a coach with proven experience and a winning resume.

Looks like they found their man.

The ECHL minor-league hockey team has hired John Marks to replace Joe Clark, who replaced George DuPont just seven games into this past season.

Marks, a 13-year ECHL coaching veteran, will be the team's fifth coach in two years.

"We felt like we, as an organization, needed to make a change," Ice Pilots President Greg Schuh said Wednesday. "We feel it was the best opportunity to put a winning product on the ice.

I actually had Marks for a HPER class at UND, ice skating. :D

New Mexico Scorpions lost the first game of the Southern Conference playoffs to Larado Bucks, 6-4 last night. Mike Prpich got his 14th goal in the playoffs!!!! Mike will be moving up in no time if he keeps this up!

thanks for the link, I enjoyed looking at the pictures that are on their website, especially the one where Mike is missing his front tooth! The Scorpions will come back with Mike scoring, just no fights!

Looks like Tippett is going to keep his job. Thank god. He and Rick Wilson did an awesome job this year with another 50 win season. He had to deal with lots of injuries to key players like Modano, Morrow, and Lindros, just to name a few. Hopefully the stars can bring in a goal scorer or two because they can't win every game 1-0.

I think Tippett is a lot like Andy Murray in that even if Dallas fired him, he'd be back in the saddle eventually.

It would help if the gm dropped a couple of the relics and added some young talent.

Was trying to follow Toews' action a little today, and saw that Bochenski has a goal and an assist in the USA's first couple of games, both wins. The IIHF website has all the games listed with live updates on stats while the games are going on. Not as good as listening, but ok to check periodically.

Bochenski is having a great game against the Slovaks today with a goal and an assist half way through the game and the US is up 4-1. The Slovaks seem to be gassed having played the late game against Canada yesterday.

Final: US wins 4-2

i believe that he and his wife bought a house here. I may have heard wrong though.

There are a few players around, Karl G and his wife were walking his with his kid in a stroller the other day. I see them every summer all summer, they must live in my neighborhood.

Devils 2006-07 rookie review

Just like last season, the New Jersey Devils biggest impact rookie was a former first-round draft choice and North Dakota Fighting Sioux alum. Last season is was Zach Parise making a big splash in New Jersey and this season it was center Travis Zajac.

The Devils went into training camp without a legitimate second line center, and though there was hope Zajac would be able to step right in after only two years of college hockey and no minor league experience, the common thought by most was that Zajac would be best served to apprentice in the AHL with the Lowell Devils before making the jump to the big club.

New Jersey fans have to be loving the Sioux.
