Quote "It's a weird thing," Toews said, "but I have dreams all the time that I leave pro hockey to go back to North Dakota to play at The Ralph again. It just shows how special my time was there and the amazing memories I have." Quote But he also spent time Friday reflecting on his two years at UND from 2005-07, beginning with his decision to attend college. Toews was the No. 1 overall pick in the Western Hockey League Draft, but opted to skip major juniors to attend UND. It was a controversial decision at the time. Toews was the only No. 1 overall draft pick in the WHL to never play in the league. "That was an interesting time in my life when things were moving really fast," Toews said. "I always catch so much flak from guys who played major junior, when they found out I was drafted as high as I was, and decided to play college hockey. It wasn't an easy decision, but looking back, I'm so thankful that I got to spend two years at North Dakota. Those are some of the best years of my life. I'm still really close with guys like Chay Genoway, Matt Watkins, Taylor Chorney, Ryan Duncan. . . we keep in touch, we text all the time." 8 Quote
siouxfaninseattle Posted Saturday at 05:03 AM Posted Saturday at 05:03 AM I really would love to see him back in the Ralph. Actually I will go back when he decides to go for one last shift. 3 Quote

That was great to see. 1 3 Quote

Wait 3 years and do it when he gets into the HHoF and hang a Toews banner next to Belfour's 1 2 Quote

cberkas Posted Saturday at 05:32 AM Posted Saturday at 05:32 AM Hear me out, Towes, Oshie, and Parise come back and play a year or two, but they change their names so no one knows 😉 1 Quote

Started off thanking UND alumnus and former Sioux football player Mark Chipman for bringing the Jets back to Winnipeg and giving him the opportunity to come back to Winnipeg and playing in front of family and his home town fans. 6 Quote

Interesting that he didnt say Oshie because I think all of us as fans link them together for life because of the DOT line so we expect them to be besties forever but that doesn't seem like how it is Quote

People on here alluded to it being unpleasant, and family comes first, but time heals wounds. Article made it sound like he was too dialed in to think about UND, and I believe it. Quote
cberkas Posted Monday at 10:00 PM Posted Monday at 10:00 PM With Keith Tkachuk going to the HHoF, a case could be made for Zach Parise. 2 Quote

His statistics are not much different than Keith Tkachuk: Zach Parise 1254 Games, 434 goals, 455 assists for 889 points and a +76 Keith Tkachuk 1201 Games, 538 goals, 527 assists for 1065 points and a +33. Additionally, Parise played for defensive minded teams where scoring was not a priority like New Jersey and Minnesota, and Parise is a much better defensive forward than Tkachuk. Quote

Nothing about Parise's career screams "Hall of Fame". At least with Tkachuk you have some argument (I still don't think so though) on being a HOF player, as 500 goals and 1000 points are no easy feat. The Hall of Fame is for players like Alex Ovechenkin, Jaromir Jagr, Gordy Howe, Wayne Gretzky, etc. and to water it down with players like Parise is just an embarrassment to those players, IMO. 1 Quote

powerplay Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago What are the chances Sanderson ends up with the C in Ottawa? Gotta think he's in the conversation with Chabot, Giroux, and Timmy. 1 Quote
