Chuck Schwartz
With everyone decided if they are coming back or not, (besides Finley) the roster should be close to complete for next season. Put together your roster. Lose: T.J. Oshie Robbie Bina Taylor Chorney Rylan Kaip Kyle Radke Michael Forney J.P. Lamoureux Joe Finley (Has not decided) Gain: Mario Lamoureux David Toews Jason Gregoire Ben Blood Brett Hextall Andrew MacWilliam (most likely will join due to Chorneys loss) Brad Eidsness Cory Fienhage (If Finley leaves, Fienhage comes. I like Gleason but he needs a year in the USHL to gain strengh to play at this level.) Forwards: Seniors: Ryan Martens, Andrew Kozek, Brad Miller, Ryan Duncan, Matt Watkins Juniors: Darcy Zajac, Chris VandeVelde Sophomores: Brett Davidson, Evan Trupp, Matt Frattin, Brad Malone Freshmen: Mario Lamoureux, David Toews, Jason Gregoire, Brett Hextall Defense: Seniors: Joe Finley (Still undecided), Zach Jones Juniors: Chay Genoway Sophomores: Derrick LaPoint, Jake Marto Freshmen: Ben Blood, Andrew MacWilliam, Cory Fienhage (If Finley Leaves) Duncan-Toews-Frattin Trupp-VandeVelde-Kozek Gregoire-Martens-Malone Watkins-Zajac-Miller Davidson-Lamoureux-Hextall Finley-Genoway LaPoint-Jones Marto-Blood MacWilliam

brianvf
Are Cichy and Bruneteau staying in the USHL for another year then? IIRC, they were both on the Protected List for USHL teams for next year, so I think that would be a good assumption to make.

Goon
Duncan-VandeVelde-Gregoire Trupp-Toews-Kozek Hextall-Watkins-Zajac Frattin-Malone-Miller Martens-Davidson-Lamoureux I would tend to think that Frattin is a better player than the fourth line. brianvf
I would tend to think that Frattin is a better player than the fourth line. He certainly is, but competition for forward spots next year is going to be high. You could swap him for Zajac on the 3rd line, but I liked the thought of a really gritty, tough line of Hextall and Zajac with Watkins. Either way, it's not like these are starting lineups for the October opener here, so we have some time to play around with them.

Chuck Schwartz
Duncan-VandeVelde-Gregoire Trupp-Toews-Kozek Hextall-Watkins-Zajac Frattin-Malone-Miller Martens-Davidson-Lamoureux I like it if you flip flop 3 and 4.
The Sicatoka
I know this is crazy to ask, but do folks think about trivial things like having a center on each line? I sure am glad Hakstol does.

Sioux-per Villain
Duncan-VandeVelde-Gregoire Trupp-Toews-Kozek Hextall-Watkins-Zajac Frattin-Malone-Miller Martens Martens-Davidson-Lamoureux Miller should stick to piano playing....
Oxbow6
Miller should stick to piano playing.... Martens for Miller is a good move. Martens is extremely undervalued. To me, he is a better option than Miller. And he is on par with Malone and Zajac as far what he brings as a 2-way player. When January rolls around Martens will be in the line-up if he doesn't start the year in the line-up.
Boogieman
Duncan-VandeVelde-Gregoire Trupp-Toews-Kozek Hextall-Watkins-Zajac Frattin-Malone-Miller Martens-Davidson-Lamoureux Frattin is FAR better than a fourth liner. I'm thinking Frattin-Watkins-Trupp. You've got Watkins to muck it up, Frattin to set it up, and Trupp to finish it up. Malone needs to play a little smarter. I was really excited when I saw his size coming in as a freshman forward, because I like big forwards that play physical, but half the time he takes himself completely out of the play trying to paste a guy into the boards. Goon
I think Genoway will have huge yr this yr - HUGE!!! Chay was good last year I think he will be even better next season. Awesome getting the puck deep and carrying the play up ice. I think he needs to remember were the defensive zone is though.
Bob in Wisconsin
I looked at that when i filled out my roster. Everyone I have is listed in the correct position. Chuck, Sorry It's off topic, but do you know if Nate Condon from Wausau was recruited by the Badgers at all? Just seems a shame he'll be a Gopher in 2009-2010. Thanks

Just seems a shame he'll be a Gopher in 2009-2010. Thanks No he was not recruited by Wisconsin. I'm sure they had contact, because they contact hundreds of kids, but there was never an offer. There is really no room for him at Wisconsin even though you like to get all the best in state players whenever you can. They are going to have problems getting all the forwards they have committed for 2009 to Wisconsin by then any ways. They already have 5 forwards committed for 2009 and 3 for 2010.
