maximushuber Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 The University of North Dakota department of athletics and Ralph Engelstad Arena announced today that Ralph Engelstad Arena will broadcast the NCAA Northeast Region championship game on its center-hung video board IF the Fighting Sioux advance to the regional final on Sunday. The regional championship game will be broadcast on ESPNU, a channel that is not available to most cable subscribers in the Grand Forks viewing area. The Ralph Engelstad Arena viewing party will be free to the public and doors would open at 4 p.m. for the 4:30 game. Concession stands will be open during the event and fans will be able to purchase beers for $3, hot dogs for only $2 and sodas for only $1. UND will face New Hampshire on Saturday in Manchester, N.H., in one of two Northeast Region semifinal games. The winner advances to Sunday Quote

RedFrog Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 Any chance someone is gonna broadcast ESPN U on justin.tv today for some of us to watch the other games? May be streaming the Michigan/Air Force game and/or Denver/Miami game ^Now Up and Running!!^ Edit: Don't hammer the chat with requests as I believe it is frowned upon in the community of streamers that take the time/effort to provide the streams. sioux/bufan Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 Thanks, Red Frog!! Do you know if this will show all of the ESPNU games? Sorry, I didn't check yet. Take care of yourselves out there in North Dakota!!! Our prayers are with you. Quote

AZSIOUX Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 I watched all the games at my house. not everyone who have digital cable around the nation has access to espnu Quote
DAR Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 Anyone know if the game on Saturday will be televised? Hopefully it's not on ESPNU since no one gets that channel.. Actually I think a lot of people get that channel. Quote
jukenjive27 Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 Actually I think a lot of people get that channel. No one who has midco gets ESPNU Quote
DAR Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 not everyone who have digital cable around the nation has access to espnu depends what cable package you have....if you just have the basic you may not get it. Quote
Big A HG Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 depends what cable package you have....if you just have the basic you may not get it. No...anyone with Midco does not get ESPNU. If you have the digital sports package with Midco, you get pretty much everything except ESPNU (FCS A/C/P, Big Ten, CBS Coll (formerly CSTV), etc., etc...but no ESPNU). Quote

If you have the digital sports package with Midco, you get pretty much everything except ESPNU (FCS A/C/P, Big Ten, CBS Coll (formerly CSTV), etc., etc...but no ESPNU). same goes for comcast, which i believe is the 1st or 2nd largest cable company in the nation. If you have the digital sports package with Midco, you get pretty much everything except ESPNU (FCS A/C/P, Big Ten, CBS Coll (formerly CSTV), etc., etc...but no ESPNU). I went round and round with a lady at Midco about this a couple of years ago and her response was that ESPN is the most expensive channel on the dial and that she didn't think the (being Midco) didn't needed to add it. I told her that her attitude was troubling because she was over looking the fact that 1,000's of Sioux fans would be watching that channel religiously. Quote
krangodance Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 What do you mean no one gets that channel? People who don't get it are choosing not to get it. It can be had by anybody who chooses to subscribe to DirecTV, which is available nationwide. The way you stated it leads me to believe that you're under the impression you couldn't get it if you wanted it. If I misunderstood the tone of your statement, then please accept my apology in advance. Not trying to be condescending, I just get frustrated when I hear about people who think they can't get a channel when that channel is in fact available nationwide. As for whether or not the game will be televised live, stay tuned to College Hockey Live for updates throughout the week. As various networks sign on to pick up feeds of certain games it should be posted there. this is quite a presumption. i for one cannot get directv because of an association rule in the condo complex i live in, which i think is ridiculous, but that's the way it goes. plus, a friend of mine who has directv does not get espnu unless he subscribes to a sports package, which is also ridiculous, yet very common among both satellite and cable providers. regardless, i'm most certain that few, if any, of us on this forum who don't get espnu knew we'd potentially be missing a sioux hockey game on espnu when we subscribed to our respective cable providers. on another note, b-flat.
