It has been mentioned at least a couple of times on recent threads (including a couple of posts ago on this thread) that someone bought all of the mugs that had been left and sold them on Ebay. So YES we're dredging up a lot of old memories here but I actually sold a load of old Frenchy's mugs on Ebay! I found them in an old antique shop on the east side on Central avenue. 2 old people that bought them by the box for who knows how much and were selling them for $2 each. I bought probably 100 of them and sold them for about $10-20 each on Ebay - so Frenchy didn't exactly lose out on a million dollars but I made a few bucks. (I also have one of his nickel beer (6 oz) glasses that is priceless - I'll never sell that!) Best memory was a lady that bought one and asked if I had her mug with her sig on it - just so happened I DID! It blew her mind and I've never had a more satisfied customer in my life.s FYI for you oldsters! - I also have a bunch of the old original songbooks from the Piano Bar at the Westward HO along with the ORIGINAL Fishbowl recipes I bought at their auction - pm me if you're interested! (I did pretty good with those on Ebay too!) I'll give you a good deal!

Funny? Not so much if you walked out of your house this morning and found all 4 tires on your car slashed by some f*cking loser who thought it might be...wait...funny also?? This happened in my neighborhood to my neighbors and friends...and it most certainly was not "funny" or "cute" in any way. In fact - I'll go out on a limb and call the guy who did this a real *SSHOLE! And I'd call someone who posted what you did exactly the same thing!

I can attest! 1/5 mile - 2 level track - electric karts - you race for time, not against other racers and build your speed through that but at the top adult level you're screeching tires around every turn. Well done Northern Air! This will be a hit - especially with winter coming on. Hologate - their virtual reality games are crazy and intense also!

A legend of Warroad Hockey and a credible advocate to keep the Warrior nickname..RIP Mr. Boucha!

However it turns out you can say "THAT'S HOW THE COOKIE CRUMBLES!" (cue: rimshot) (also cue: Cricket Noises) Thanks! I'll be here all...oh f*ck it Some other interesting recent adds to the GF food scene: -- NautiBowls - too much for a dessert, lunch?-okay I guess. Mix it up and it's good but SUBSTANTIAL. Go for a small when you try it the first time. HORRIBLE location in the myriad of empty strip mall spots in GF. Lots of bad puns about being "Nauti" for the workers - we get it but ugghhh. -- Tropical Cafe - decent and a much better location. Smoothie was good but also substantial. We'll see....

Red Pepper has served bland tasteless "mexican" food to stupid drunk scandanavians for decades and convinced them somehow it's LEGENDARY! That being said - had a garbage plate or two back in the day that AT THE TIME was EXCELLENT but that's beside the point. There does seem to be a niche for these type of businesses...biggest question is will the Pepper start selling cookies now?

Stole it on his way to meet his parole officer - then confesses to his parole officer he stole car to get there. Ed left a spare fob in the dash so it was a ripe target but only in North Dakota does a criminal.... STEAL A TRUSTING NORTH DAKOTAN'S VEHICLE FROM A PUBLIC PARKING LOT>.. DRIVE THAT VEHICLE TO A MEETING WITH HIS PAROLE OFFICER>... CONFESS TO THE PAROLE OFFICER HE STOLE THE VEHICLE (a violation I suspect?;-) BYE BYE IDIOT! POLICE DEPARTMENT CALL'S ED TO SAY THEY RECOVERED HIS VEHICLE. case closed - Ba Dump DUMP!!

Hope so too! Pete got a grant for the Food Truck - rented it out for several years before Steers owner Elias Dean eventually bought it to serve as a remote option for his brick and mortar restaurant that he started from scratch working his a** off so now he has options - problem with that? That food truck didn't cost GF taxpayers one dime. Stop acting like that was some big "LIBERAL" give-away - it was not! It worked out exactly like it was intended to do...and Elias has a great thing going with the food truck and Chino Latino. Bitching about every little thing does NOTHING for the greater good - DOING is the key and here it is.

He made 128 million dollars so far for a very mediocre career as a professional football player - HOORAY? Why are any of us worried about his future? He already won the "I can retire at 28 and never have to work a job for money again in my life" lottery. AGAIN - HOORAY? Sure his feelings are hurt no one gives a !@#$ about him now... guess what Carson? YOU ALREADY MADE 128 MILLION DOLLARS! It's called winning the lottery of professional a-hole athletes who don't think their greatness has been noted. IT HAS - YOU ARE - and you're unemployed but rich beyond most peoples means...how about taking some of the big $$$ and making a difference in the little peoples' lives. Dare ya.... -
Yeah that would be hilarious!

The Old Met building WILL BE a great microbrewery. Rhombus Guys just didn't have the mojo - agree they should stick to pizza and let someone else come in and take it over that building - they can keep the apartments above. CALL DREKKER in FARGO - we stayed at Brewhalla last weekend and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. Innovative vision, great marketplace and very creative brews! My wife who doesn't like "craft" beer couldn't get enough of their fruit-sours. We brought home a couple 4 packs as proof. If you brew good and different beers in a unique place people will come and having good food is just a bonus - RG could never pull that off in this location. No bad for them - just let some one move in who can make something of this amazing space!

I think in this case it was a matter of "if" the officer that ended it would have also gone down in the initial salvo - this would have had a MUCH more horrendous result. The shooter has free shots at whoever he wants. If he would have been mortally wounded but had the presence of mind to shoot the tanks of explosives he had in his car it would have been an explosion from hell. Naming the officer says "yes there was 1 person who made a huge difference here and it was this guy" and it was. His identity would have been easy to find out anyway. His performance and heroism was astounding - DW broke down many times talking about it - I agree. He is a true hero - it could have been SO much worse on so many levels.

Completely true! The beer and food was never really remarkable. The ironic thing is the guy that started Half Brothers was the first and original brewmaster at Rhombus and struck out to start his own business and succeeded! Drekker has done REALLY WELL in Fargo also... https://brewhalla.co/ Staying there for a birthday weekend getaway - heard it's really cool. Rhombus did a great thing repurposing the Old Met downtown. That building is a historical gem and hopefully another micro brewer will step in and take it over.

Hattons' own Bonita's Chicago Sausage frozen pizza was probably the GREATEST frozen pizza EVER as anyone who ever had it would attest. The old owners eventually sold out to Jimmy's Pizza and they combined brands and sadly ditched that pizza. It was amazing though. Jimmy's is OK. Have an Up North in the freezer but didn't realize they were made by the company in Hatton. Will check that out...

Thought that was highly bizarre also.

No further questions your honor KFC sucks. If you want decent fried chicken try the Boss! Hands down best fried chicken in town and their pies are great also. Discovered them staying in Sioux Falls years ago - plus they deliver late.

Stopped in the other night - not bad. They seem like a "healthy" lunch place mostly but are open until 7pm. We went with light appetites not knowing what to expect. I ordered the "Sail Bowl" - medium - a mixture of many healthy ingredients with a base of frozen or partially thawed mush. I guess you're supposed to mix it all together - it was good! THAT being said... FYI - Don't forget your wallet! Medium cups were $12-$14. More substantial than what it seems - not QUITE enough to be a stand alone meal on its own. Good luck to them - bad visibility spot for 32nd. But again GOOD LUCK!

Fu? Early 80's and a certified one-year resident of Walsh Hall. Can prove it if I need to - fun thread - don't be a dick for no reason but we all know you need NO reason to be anything else so thanks for contributing.

Drove by last week and was blown away seeing it half down - RIP 215A! Moved in on a weekend when it was hotter than f*ck and remember going to every store in GF looking for a box fan - finally found one at the KMart (also long gone) and had some relief. Had some hometown friends in West - we went to the old theater on Washington that eventually was home to WDAZ to see WarGames and enjoy our first weekend in the big city! I remember the old (legit) tunnel system underground where you could go and trade in your crappy bedding for fresh sheets but not until a couple months in and the sheets were pretty stinky when I finally discovered it (lol) Antennae TV only - no cable or internet yet - got hooked on watching General Hospital because it was on when I was done with class for that freshman year because we only got a few channels. Got a few knocks on the door from random RA's because they thought I was "cooking" in my dorm room. I had a pizza oven I used on weekends going to the old VD on campus that was in the basement of the building across from the Union - learned to open a window from that. One time I came back early from a holiday with some ditch weed a buddy gave me. Smoked it - got a headache instead of a buzz and then had a knock on the door shortly after. I bullshitted some story about how my "native american" roommate had burned some sage earlier to purify the dorm room but he had left and the RA bought it. My actual roommate was a computer nerd from Stillwater. ahh memories

FANTASTIC! and you are???

No - this has been a project in the works in GF for three decades or more. Mayor Bo has able to push it over the top because of infrastructure money from Bidens "Build Back Better" program was available. Kramer and Hoeven had nothing to do with pushing forward. One of them was MORE than happy to show up for for the photo opp last week. Kramer is actually okay on that since I think he DID vote for the infrastructure package - Hoeven did not - and also didn't show up. Empty Suit? PPOOOFFF!
