We went to today's game although I was hesitant because of how they played against Omaha but my wife REALLY wanted to go so OK... First off - easy in - we parked in the free parking and had to walk about a block and a half max. Wellness Center was charging $20 a car from their lot - REALLY? As Barnum used to say there's a sucker born every minute but whatever. Tickets - CHEAP! We were walk ups and got 2 tickets behind the benches 11 rows up in 411 on about the 45 yard line for $10 each - SUPER CHEAP - we had amazing seats for...wait for it...well you know Concessions - $5 for a BOTTLE OF WATER? I'm out - doesn't look like the bar on lounge level was even open. They moved the endzone bleachers on the home side back against the wall cutting out the concession area there that offered more than just hot dogs. Apparently a thing of the past....don't even start me on where the band plays from now - BEHIND a crappy Fan Section - SAD! The Game - NOT SO MUCH - nice crowd ready to cheer but when you spot the opponent an 11 point lead right out of the gate and play catch-up for the rest of the game - MOOD KILLER! Finally some excitement when they got within 2 but a few minutes later is was back to double digits and they never got close - How COULD a crowd get into a game like that? Uffda! Enjoyed the POTENTIAL atmosphere but the lame UND game sucked all the energy away. Won't be going back anytime soon. Even Loyal Janhke looked like he should be doing something more productive on weekends like cleaning out his garage - and that guy is the BIGGEST fan of all! WE CAN DO BETTER CHAVES! We have too!

Television HD standards are universal - broadcast quality is dependent on broadcasting schools. How it's delivered doesn't matter at all. Compare any UND broadcast to a crap-show from Miami of Ohio. Didn't matter WHERE it was broadcast - it's all about how...TV 101

There is speculation he got to plea to one count and stay out of jail until he fucked himself because he chirped - other people at the state level knew what he was doing and he may not have gone on these taxpayer funded trips alone. Let me translate...Gam Wong was one of the original owners of Shangra-La. After they closed the original restaurant (1st Chinese place in GF) he opened Phoenix Wok and Grill in a strip mall on Columbia with his son Brandon. After a few years Brandon decided banking was a better career option (still does) and Phoenix closed. Gam loved to cook since it was his whole life so he hooked up with Southtown Pourhouse and did the traditional dishes there for a few years. Despite being a popular food draw to a crappy country bar for a few years they kicked him to the curb. Gam still wanted to cook so Ground Round brought him in several years ago and he's been cooking there a few days a week (check facebook for schedule) ever since! He does a limited menu like the old Shangra-La Combo dinner, fried rice and sometimes a specialty entree like his Phoenix Chicken or Walnut Shrimp. Not wild or crazy but for fans of 80's GF it's chinese comfort food and bless his heart for still doing it although he has to be in his 70's at least! The combo meal WILL take you back and don't forget to ask for Hot Mustard - it will clear your nostrils for weeks. Totally worth it for old fans of GF cuisine!

New sign over the old Tea and Crepe location downtown - KING POKE Bowls - cool! A little Hawaiian cuisine would be a nice addition to downtown and work great in that small space.

Not at Jamestown but understand you can't fly west from GF - only to MPLS. Devils Lake goes to Denver and the short stop is Jamestown but this flight has been VERY SUCCESSFUL for DL and Jamestown which was the ultimate goal of EAS! Lots of GF residents fly out of DL for this flight - just what is it was designed to do.

Just FYI - Jamestown's main runway has been closed for 6 weeks for a reconstruction project from early May to mid June and commercial traffic is prohibited during this time so that probably explains some of it. There will need to be some....uhhh..."retraining" if Runnings plans to retain the current employees from the current Home of Lobotomy staff.

Go check out Seoul Kitchen in the Grand Cities Mall (formerly Moe's Kitchen) - transformed it into a stylish Asian restaurant. Bit of a wait but the food was good and authentic. Staff very nice and attentive - the Gojuchang wings are super sticky and delicous. Great addition in a hidden location. The croffles are a good dessert but they need to give you a knife!

On the UP side for the "Metro" - Spray Paint sales at Ace Hardware on University are THROUGH THE ROOF!!

True! They love to identify as "The Metro" and the first half dozen stories on the local news are crime. No time for GF news (unless it's crime) - they got what they always wanted.

9 days later and his supporters are still 2K away from making the original goal of 10K - it's only moved like $500 the last couple weeks - really? DISAPPOINTED in the "mighty SIOUX nation" but not surprised. When Al Pearson was going downhill I posted a similar link to friends of his daughter's GFM and it was met with yawns and minimal support despite everything Al did for UND....wtf?
