  1. Source?
  2. Yes
  3. Only on one end. There is zero reason the media end can't be changed back to normal, today. It's a terrible view for someone who is professionally reporting on the game anyway.
  4. The black curtain should be removed at minimum. This would be like an open concourse arena or stadium permanently blocking the view of the game from fans in the concourse. There's a reason that so many open concourse arenas and stadiums are being built - it improves the game experience for everyone. If this idea isn't going anywhere and they insist on keeping the club seating, they could at least try to make it feel like a legit club experience. Give them tables and servers and remove the curtain. This would at least help to drive revenue and it would help to justify the higher price point of the tickets. I hope they reverse course, but if they did something like this (see below) there probably wouldn't have been as much push back - I think what drives people nuts about the Peterson Porch is that the space is just being wasted. period.
  5. Tom made a great point about kids. Kid's want to move around and the catwalk allows kids to move around a bit while parents can still watch the game. My top reasons for why UND should reverse their position: -Kids, as mentioned -Only place for friends to meet up since there isn't a general admission section -Only place 21 year old students can watch the game while LEGALLY drinking a beer -Flawed Logic. Eric Martinson seems to base his argument on a sold out building, which has only ever happened with NDSU. Peterson Porch diminishes the fan experience for everyone in the building with normal seats and Peterson Porch revenue is likely more than offset by disgruntled fans who decide to stay at home. -Terrible execution -Black curtains are unnecessary -There is room to create space for overflow press above the suits
  6. Probably not the best way to effect change.
  7. Do you have an Iphone or Android, or were you on their website? I only ever saw a play/stop button, which is why I resorted to NAU's feed on the Varsity app.
  8. Never should have stopped using the logo in my profile picture.
  9. I had to use NAU's radio stream to do this. I couldn't pause the radio feed on Iheart. What station did you use and what app?
  10. No. They just keep it.
  11. I saw those as well. Is the other end entirely "press"? Also, the sides of each bridge deck aren't on there either - this would be between the big pillars where there are two rows of chairs.
  12. They can't broadcast today's game. Wait a couple weeks.
  13. Great! Sounds like a good problem to have.
  14. Cant see anything from the bars in the Ralph either.
  15. When did they try it? I don't remember seeing anything back there ever, or any advertisement of it.
  16. Chaves is asleep at the wheel. Simple as that imo. Can't even keep our athletics website updated let alone do anything else. "Student-athletes are not permitted to make special appearances (voluntary or otherwise) without prior approval. Student-Athletes are permitted to provide autographs at fanfests, autograph nights, and special events deemed by the UND Athletic Department as well as during their personal time, but at no time can these autographs be used for monetary gain. Compensating student-athletes for their autograph or a photo will result in a NCAA violation that affects the student-athlete's eligibility and chance to compete for UND. "
  17. I'm not sure if hockey has transitioned to paperless game programs, but have an actual old school game program so people don't have to pull out their phone in order to learn about the players/teams, or to do something as simple as check a guys number. Once that phone gets pulled out, it's difficult for everyone to put it down - might as well check on the scores of other games, could see a work email, wife/husband texted you from home, etc..
  18. Some context from the Alerus Center usage agreement:
  19. I agree the piped in crap sucks, but if I had to answer your question, I'd say when they changed the rules and essentially took hitting out of the game.
  20. This. Imagine if the REA tarped off the view of the ice directly behind the club seating on either end of the arena. And how would that affect the REA fan experience and attendance? What the Alerus did with the bridge decks is the equivalent to that, and it's just as stupid as it sounds to tarp off the REA bar...
  21. This. Whatever happened to will call? Can we order tickets over the phone and pick them up at the game without paying the ticket master fees?
  22. With how important UND and it's graduates are to many aviation companies, is there a reason we don't see more athletic sponsorships, advertisements, or fundraising help from the aviation industry? For example, Alaska Airlines paid for naming rights for UAA's Alaska Airlines Center. Why don't we see the athletic department building relationships with companies like Delta, American Airlines, Spirit, or defense companies with a local presence like Northrup Grumman or General Atomics? Anyone have any insight into whether any of these companies are or where significant donors to UND athletics? With how many pilots UND puts out there, I feel like it would be beneficial for some of these companies to advertise more during UND sporting events or to Sponsor games, etc...
  23. No. The grey sections are available as are the colored sections without letters.
  24. I'm an idiot. Kinda had tunnel vision once I was on the Iheart app, as I was thinking everything live in GF would just stream to the 1440 Iheart app (I guess in addition to the main gf station).
  25. Did anyone else try streaming the Nebraska game on the new Iheart stream for 1440 AM in Grand Forks? I'm pretty sure it was just playing the Twin Cities broadcast so I had to stream KFGO's Iheart broadcast.
