  1. Most of the people you listed are well-known right-wingers. Jordan is pretty apolitical, but I think the others are staunch conservatives. Just like Thomas. And how do we know if POTUS does or doesn't watch sports on Air Force 1 or in the White House private residence? I am sure POTUS does that whenever he gets the chance. He hates the bubble he has to live in more than most of us could ever imagine.
  2. This is what was wrong with it. This was supposed to be about the team, not about him getting his jock strap in a bunch over something totally unrelated to the game of hockey or winning the Stanley Cup. And nobody in the media held a gun to his head and told him to say that.
  3. Didn't we do that on April 9th, 2016 in Tampa, FL at around 10:00pm CT?
  4. Oh, I agree with you. Tim Thomas was being a classless tool for refusing to join his teammates at the White House a few years ago.
  5. But it's okay for Boston College to be at home every year for their regional? Yep, that is what I thought.
  6. Tim Thomas would disagree with you.
  7. So they can meet Hillary Clinton? (sorry buddy, but you started it!)
  8. Well, the 2000 team went to the White House, so anything is possible. I think Hoeven, Cramer and Heitkamp should work together and lobby the White House to get this done.
  9. I have noticed this as well. Someone should remind Nelson that this isn't the 1950's and baseball is not the #1 sport in America anymore. Cutting baseball is not in any way devastating to UND athletics. As for the closing comment (Is the Big Sky the right place for UND athletics?) he was implying that either a) UND drop back down to Division II or b) Figure out how to get into the Summit/MVFC. Neither of those things are going to happen. And neither of them should happen.
  10. Careful, there are members of the Ryan Miller fan club on this forum!
  11. Some other players that fit the title of this thread: Jeff Panzer Peter Armburst David Hoogsteen Matt Henderson Karl Goehring
  12. A Renaissance a lot of people have forgotten over time. We didn't always have a palace for our home games, every home game televised or first round NHL draft prospects drooling over our program year after year. 1994 was a critical tipping point in the history of this program and Curtis Murphy was one of the players that helped Blais turn the program around. I believe Murphy was one of Gino's recruits who committed before the coaching change and stuck around. I am very glad he did.
  13. I get a little tired of this whole "You can't blame a kid for doing whatever he wants, whenever he wants, regardless of how it impacts others". I suppose you didn't have a problem with what Tambellini pulled a few years back? Or what Derrick Byfuglien pulled back in 2000? Not that this is the same as those situations, but waiting almost until classes start in the Fall would be bush league in my opinion. The coaches have a responsibility to the program and thus need time to replace any kid who decides to sign a pro contract.
  14. Finland is making waves in international hockey after years in the shadow of Sweden.
  15. It doesn't have to be discrimination. If we do it right, we can offer opportunities for women without hurting men. Whether or not we are doing it right is open for debate.
  16. I didn't know Mike Eaves was coaching there?!?!
  17. As a subscriber to the Heraldo, I had it delivered to my front door. Very well-written piece.
  18. Would the B1G want to "contaminate" the "gene pool" as it were? They set this up to be an elite, exclusive club (trying not to snicker when I type that) and letting "outsiders" in would change that.
  19. I honestly wouldn't have a problem with that. We play them every year in an exhibition game. They are close. They undoubtedly would strive to build an elite program that would contend for championships. It would also further expose Canada to NCAA hockey, which may result in more and better recruits from north of the border.
  20. If the financial terms are up to snuff. We cannot afford to get screwed in any arrangement with the B1G. Otherwise, they can go pound sand.....well, you know where.
  21. All of the above. #heymichiganobjectsinthemirrorarecloserthantheyappear
  22. The bolded part above is why I will never apologize for UND having a regional in Fargo.
  23. No need to apologize. Quality is Job 1 at the University of North Dakota.
  24. Thank you Nashville!
