  1. You are right about the Patriots. And no, I do NOT secretly like the Packers, I have hated that team as long as I can remember.
  2. So we aren't allowed to get excited about our team? Or is that "privilege" reserved for Packer Nation and their sycophants in the sports media?
  3. Yeah, they were too busy putting together their next Packers suck-up segment.
  4. Yeah, how could we call the Gophers "rodents" if we are Flickertails (another version of a "rodent")? Fighting Hawks is unoriginal, but I can live with it.
  5. Unless you think the Heidlebaugh kid from Rugby is ready to step in, Studsrud is our best option.
  6. That might have been during the Lions' 0-16 campaign back in 2008-09.
  7. This franchise needs a complete and total rebuild from the ground up. No "tweaking", no "readjusting".....a total house cleaning.
  8. Also, Burns doesn't seem to understand that if the fans, who paid good money to sit there and watch the game, want to express their displeasure at the lack of offensive production, that is their right. Nobody forced Burns and Schnelker to get into coaching, where every decision you make is scrutinized by the media. I don't think Burnsie could have coached in today's social media age, he would have ended up having a heart attack at some point.
  9. No, everything wasn't Bob Schnelker's fault. But his poor use of Hershel Walker was on him. As was a lot of the unimaginative play calling he was famous for. The Minnesota Vikings of the late 1980's had the defense to win a Super Bowl, but their offense had to continuously settle for field goals inside the 5 yard line instead of punching it in for six. That is the biggest reason why those teams could never quite get over the hump. Is Rudolph to blame for everything? No, but unless Studsrud is calling his own plays (like Terry Bradshaw), he is responsible for the predicable run, run, pass, punt pattern that opponents are always ready for. PS: This was the game vs the Rams where the Vikings won with a safety off of a blocked punt in overtime. I will never forget that game.....crazy stuff.
  10. I would call the defense better than "solid" with all the turnovers they are generating. The offense will be a problem as long as we are starting over on the O-Line every year; we have to develop some chemistry and consistency there or else it won't matter who the QB or RBs are.
  11. Which conference would take them? The Sun Belch? That league is pure garbage. The Big 12? I am not sure they would take a North Dakota school. The MAC? Don't know if they are looking to add teams or not. If NDSU is smart, they'll stay in FCS and not move up to FBS where the closest thing they would get to a "championship" would be a low-level bowl game on a weeknight in the middle of December on ESPN that very few people will be interested in watching. And that is assuming NDSU can increase their athletics budget to a level high enough to have a winning team on a perennial basis.
  12. Roll Studsrud out more, he seems to make more plays doing that.
  13. Anybody think Studsrud and/or the O-Line can get better as the season goes on? We won't win many more games if the offense can't cash in on all these turnovers.
  14. Okay, that is a reasonable take on this.
  15. So, based on what we know right now, is this photo appropriate or not? Just with what we know now? And what could possibly make it acceptable?
  16. No, I didn't say that, did I? I am saying that people are soft-pedaling this, while saying it was stupid of them to do. When you make smart-a$$ comments like that, you should expect a response.
  17. Really? Then what would you call this? Sorry, but I can and will connect those dots. Because these are young white women doing this, they are just "sowing their wild oats". If these were Black Panthers targeting white people with racial slurs, I imagine the social media response would be much, much different. Flame away, but those are dots worth connecting.
  18. This is what I was talking about. Implicit acceptance and approval of what these young women did. SMH.
  19. Some people on social media are clearly having trouble suppressing their pride in what these young women did. They just won't admit it. That is what I was targeting. Not you specifically.
  20. Please post a link to the story on this. I haven't heard about it.
  21. People who claim to not condone this behavior and then go on to explain how it isn't a big deal and it doesn't matter confuse me. Was it appropriate or not? If this is appropriate, what will be appropriate next? The Swastika? I don't think criminal charges are appropriate here, this should be handled by UND's administration. Discipline the students involved, warn them of future consequences for repeat of said behavior and move on. I don't think these students should have their lives ruined over one bad decision, but they need to understand that this behavior is not acceptable in society and will likely have harsher consequences once they move in the professional working world.
  22. I believe those are the correct times.
  23. He was tarred and feathered for posting a very condescending and patronizing response to a student who left early. If he had included the season-ticket holders and general admission ticket holders who left early, most people wouldn't have had a problem with it. But he gave them a free pass, while he launched into a generational chauvinist rant about how terrible the millennials are. We have way more important things to be concerned about anyway. As this team continues to improve and play more consistently, the fans will come. It just isn't going to happen instantly, not after all the bad years we have endured around here.
  24. You are welcome.
  25. You tried, convicted and sentenced that student based on your own generational biases. Nothing "lefty" or "righty" about that, just not in good taste. I have dealt with a lot of the "entitled" millennials you b!tched about in your post and I would rather spend time with them than with people who like to sit out on their front porch and yell at the kids to get off their lawn.
