Is he saying that there are Title IX violations at BOTH UND and NDSU? Also, is he saying that because women's sports are not "marquee programs" for the university, that women don't have equal opportunity?!!

Schools like RIT, Mercyhurst, and Robert Morris obviously have more of a chance than schools like UND, Denver, and Michigan because they have both men's and women's hockey!!

Use the same procedure used to come up with the nickname to come up with a trophy!! What could go wrong!

How bout this: Keep the idea of playing for an over sized coin trophy. Instead of the buffalo nickel, create a Nickel minted with one side as a generic buffalo, and the other side as a generic hawk. Don't use the current logos, as those can change over the years. Sure what made the Nickel Trophy awesome was that is was an actually minted coin that existed. That's fine. A specially minted coin displaying animals that represent the mascots of both schools would be great. Keeps the tradition of playing for "The Nickel" only with an updated feel.

Ugh, this is taking forever. Can't this process speed up to the time when they invoke postseasons bans and take away scholorships, wins, and National Championships?!! That's what we all want to happen here!!

They should change the name from 3M Arena to 3K Arena.....as in the average attendance each night!!

Decotah Legacy Collection only exists so that UND can sell merchandise with the old logo to maintain the trademark. It was never and likely will never be used to make a profit. Which is why there is always a limited release Dakotah Legacy items when they come out. How can I make the claim it wasn't created to make a profit? Because UND could make 10,000 Sioux jerseys with the Brien logo on them and sell them under the Dakotah Legacy collection and they would sell like gangbusters. This is something that I highly doubt UND would ever do.

For all Bison fans out there who are saying that we are blowing this out or proportion....congrats. You have [played right into our game. Most fans will defend their team and program when it is being attacked. But given the success of the NDSU football program recently, Bison fans will defend their program to the death if there is even a miniscule chance the legacy will be at any way tarnished. My advise to Bison fans, relax. Your program is getting some flack from likely an isolated incident. Try not to take it so personally. We are just a rival school giving you some crap about an issue.

The Twins and Target Field have decided that they don't want to schedule football games in September during the baseball regular season given the toll it takes on the filed. It is unfortunate that St Peter, a UND guy, didn't offer a game to UND instead of NDSU. I get it. NDSU travels better for football than UND. But still.

I think it’s time to come to a realization that the Broncos are the real deal this year!!

Were the old banners pre 1997 the smaller square ones? I think I speak for most people here when I request a pic of that banner you have in your office!! Would be cool to see it!!

Don't get me wrong, the upgrades at the REA over the last 19 years since it opened have been great. This new scoreboard being one of the biggest and most noticeable to fans. But you have to think that athletes from other sports feel a little second rate when they see how much money is used for hockey in an endowment specifically stated to benifit UND as a whole. Example: when the hockey team got a 3 million dollar locker room upgrade to a locker room only 13 years old at the time while the football team uses used locker rooms that have had little upgrades in decades!!

Probably in the same janitor closet at Hyslop where the Nickel was kept!

The REA prints out and mails out the football tickets. Anything over the cost of doing that is directly stealing from the football program. And that is why Kennedy approched KEM about. 345K a year is a lot of money. What was the donation amount by the Engelstad foundation allocated to the football program last year? I'm not great at Math either, but I am pretty sure it was less that 345K.

Move the Soccer Field. It is used 3 and a half months out of the year and hosts 9 home games. The rest of the time it goes unused. Mostly during the hockey season. Not sure why the soccer team couldn't play at Memorial Stadium. NCAA allows for turf fields. With the HPC now built, you would think the football and soccer teams could organize practices and soccer games to not interfere with each other. Turn the soccer field into a parking lot. Adds more surface lots for the students during the year and adds much needed parking for hockey and other events at the REA.

That's probably the better option. Makes no sense that an arena originally built in the middle of a field does not have enough parking.

They need to make this waste of a grass space parking as well.

For context, the Old Ralph at one time until the last game there had the geometric logo on all 7 of the National Championship banners. The WCHA Championships I believe had just the year and "WCHA Champions" on it..

Well, REA did put banners in the Betty with the fighting Hawks logo. So clearly it would be the REA not wanting to offend the hockey fanbase by using it on a hockey banner.

So what logo will be on the next banner that gets hung from the rafters? the Fighting Hawks logo or the "North Dakota" script. Unfortunately, it would likely be the stupid script!!
