Agreed. I think if you are a fan of either school and you want to go to this game, you are going to get tickets. That being said, I think the demand is going to be high due to fans missing out on the Vegas game. I could see 12,000+ UND fans at this game.

I'm guessing they are working out stuff like what percentage of seats Penn St. gets. I have this hunch Penn St. likely wants more than UND is giving them.

Similar to another President, it seems that no matter what good Kennedy does, if people dislike him all that doesn't matter. I am not saying Kennedy is perfect by any means. He has his faults. We all do. But Kennedy has likely done more good for the long term stability of UND in the 2+ years he has been here than Kelley did in his Tenure. When Kennedy's time at UND is done, people will find reasons to dislike and criticize the next President.

Attractive to who? And for what reason? To attract future schools? The Summit League is what it is. A mid major who is a 1 bid league for most NCAA tournaments (at least the big ones). The focus for conferences like the Summit is stability. Adding a school smack dab in the footprint of the conference that in all likelyhood is not going to leave is exactly what the Summit needs.

Kennedy wanted to renegotiate the contract to look at the amount of revenue UND gets. (The contract that is supposed to get negotiated every year....but hasn't been until Kennedy did). Also wanted the new Fighting Hawks logo at midcourt of the to be newly painted Betty floor upon the request of every coach whose teams played there and KEM didn't even think twice and said no. then she went to the Herald and complained about Kennedy. I would call that a hissy fit. She came of as basically saying "How dare this man even question anything this Foundation and the REA is doing. Doesn't he know who I am and who my father was?" The very definiting on entitlement. And now she wants Kennedy fired.....or else!!! So sick of her.

REA gets Football revenue. And recently has no say in how they want their official athletic logo displayed in the facilities where UND is their primary tenant. Crappy deal. And KEM throws a hissy fit and starts making threats when someone dares question to maybe renegotiate the deal or suggest the Hawks logo be displayed at center court.

So basically she admits to saying her relationships with Presidents Baker, Kupchella, Kelley, and Shafer, (along with Kennedy) weren't that great either. So who is to say that she will get along with the next President? Maybe UND should just let KEM hand pick the next President that is willing to kiss her ass and let her do what she wants without any pushback!!

Well, I might have been a little extreme in a response I suggest they use. Are they still not required under the usage agreement to give UND money after they cover all their costs? KEM can say she won't donate anymore, but doesn't teh agreement force her to? Looking for some clarification oh wise one!!

I am not confident in Mikko coming back the player he used to be. finding a center (or two) will definitely be a focal point for Fenton this offseason.

Arizona State plays a series against Minnesota this weekend. With no conference tournament to play for, their next game after March 2nd will be March 29th or 30th. Having rest before the NCAA's is necessarily a bad thing. Wondering how 3 weekends off between games will affect this team. Especially considering it is their first ever NCAA appearance as a program.

Brock is definitely one of the guys Fenton is looking at this off season to bring to Minnesota. Would be a good pickup.

This right here. So sick of KEM thinking she calls the shots at UND. And UND isn't the only University she has done this to (see Sic's UNLV story). I get it. you never want to have any donor, let alone the largest donor UND has ever had, say they are going to stop sending donations. But when they start thinking they have control over who the President is, that is where you need to draw the line. If UND sets a precedence and gets rid of Kennedy becasue of threats from a donor, what else will KEM think she can control here at UND. I say call her bluff. Without donations to UND, she will lose all "Control" she thinks she has at UND. Fire back an email and let her know that if donations stop, the usage agreement with the REA and UND expires at the end of 2019 and UND will take over all control of the REA beginning January 1, 2020. UND will be better off without KEM and the Engelstad Foundation telling UND how to operate.

So you applaud when millionaire heiresses try to use their money and power to influence public institutions? Wow!! So those with the money have the power to control everything. there are countries in the world you can move too that are run like that. But I am guessing you wouldn't like that life too much. Also, lease provide examples of how Kennedy has "pissed the money away" in regards to alumni donations? (Salaries commuting expenses to UNd employees don't fall under alumni donation spending)

UND/USD game will determine the 6 seed for the Summit League Tournament. Winner gets te 6 seed and plays Fort Wayne in the first round.

Bring us to speed on the usage agreement. Isn't that a contract? KEM can make threats that they are cutting off all donations, but is that possible with the usage agreement in place? By ending all donations, wouldn't that make the current contract void and UND would then get ALL profits from the REA?

I have never that the Ralph was built to attract big time D1 programs. It was built to attract the big time recruits, which we can all agree has happened. Playing teams that aren't "big time Division 1 programs" isn't a knock on a team or make them any less of a powerhouse program. Look at Duke basketball's non conference schedule every year. Doesn't seem to hut their reputation.

Of course people would love to see Big 10, Hockey East, or even WCHA schools like Mankato come into the Ralph. But that's not always an option every year. Just the way scheduling works. Sure it's unfortunate we don't have a better non conference schedule, but that's life. Sure, iins against the liked of Canisius and Huntsville don't really help us and loses can really hurt us. bit, if we can't beat the bottom feeders of Atlantic Hockey and the WCHA at home, do we really deserve to make the tournament? As someone stated in a previous post, given the grind that is the NCHC, it's OK to play a few cupcakes that hopefully result in wins to get some confidence heading into the meat grinder that is the NCHC conference schedule.
