So is seeing the Fighting Hawks logo "at a bare minimum" something that you would like to continue seeing at the Ralphm the Betty, or everywhere else on campus? Is that something that UND and its Athletic Department want to continue to do? Do you think that the REA doing that is best for the University? Just wondering. Making the logo more visible on campus is important. And it is even more important at UND sporting events. And is even more important at the most high profile sport at UND. I am not saying that the logo has to be front and center on the jersey. On the shoulders is fine. Having a jersey that actually says "Hawks" on it would be great. Were fans proud of the Sioux name? Absolutely. Can you be proud of the Sioux name and also be proud of the Hawks name? Yes. The University, the REA and its athletic teams need to be proud of its name and what it represents. And that is the University of North Dakota, the school that they play their heart out for every night.

Brad Berry is part of the Athletic Department. I can only assume that most AD's work with their coaches when deciding what jerseys their players will be wearing. Berry doesn't have the final say, but he was likely asked about the new jersey design (If they are even changing it). The REA, KEM, and the Engelstad Foundation have ZERO control over the jerseys.

I wouldn't say zero chance. KEM and the Ralph have zero control of what is on the jerseys of the teams that play in their buildings. The UND Athletic Department decides that.

Circle logo on hockey jerseys is something that certainly isn't new. Definitely done in the NHL with the Wild and Blues. Several college teams have or currently use that type of logo as well.....including the UND womens hockey team.

I am liking this. Take the tailgate village idea they do at the Alerus before football games and move it inside to the Olympic rink!! Have food vendors, beer garden, jumpy houses, etc. Tailgating for hockey is a great time. Ask anyone that was in Vegas!!

Tailgating at the Alerus has gone off without a hitch. Why not try it at the Ralph!!

UND formed a committee to help improve the gameday atmosphere for football games at the Alerus. That proved to be very successful. Can something like that be done for the Ralph? Or does the Ralph say thanks by no thanks to any outside consulting to control their gameday program.

Gray jerseys wouldn't look as bad as people think they would. The LA Kings and VGK;s have done it and I don't mind those jerseys at all.

Can we get our buddy Mike Hawks on skates?!! Get him his own jersey and have him fly around down there on the ice. Crowd would be electric!!

Bingo!! There is huge identity crisis at the game. You have the Sioux logo everywhere, you have the hockey team only referred to as "North Dakota" by the announcers to go with the script logo, and you have too look really hard for the Fighting Hawks logo. You have fans yelling "Go Sioux" and you have fans that feel that if they yell "Go Hawks" they are going to get dirty looks from other fans!!

It begins with the students. They are the heart and soul of the crowd energy in the building. Unfortunately, students at the game care more about their Instagram account than what is happening on the ice.

One thing I wish they could at least do is put a damn sticker on the helmet. Looks so dumb without one. Put the Hawks logo on the helmet, put North Dakota on the jersey, keep the logo on the shoulder, and call it a day.

Curious to see how they are going to handle the UND game this year. Last time, you could only initially buy them as part of a 4 game pack. then after that they were $99 for just the one game.

Typically the "Early Departures" thread is always one that people are afraid to look at when updated because it means UND lost a player early to the pro's. Unfortunately that thread may be [pretty quiet this spring. -
So who would be a "Grand Slam" type of pick? What type of candidate fits that criteria? Someone with UND ties? Experience as a University President? Someone young and energetic the students can get behind?

I am hoping the new design won't be one that requires you to spend hundreds personalizing it with a number to make it not look dumb. They would have sold a lot more of the current jersey had they had they not done that. Take these jerseys and replace "SIOUX" with "HAWKS" and keep the logo on the shoulders.

Here are all the new Adidas design jerseys for every NHL team released last year. Possibly the new jersey design will be similar to one of these.

I noticed on siouxshop.com that the authentic and replica jerseys have been drastically discounted. http://siouxshop.com/store/category/1/1/Jerseys/ My guess is they are attempting to sell as many as they can before the new Adidas jerseys get released, likely this summer. Almost forgot that was happening next year!!
